on board computer playing up

this morning I was sitting in the most herendous traffic - so I have my display showing average fuel consumption (l/100kms) while I'm standing still the average starts climbing, 9.8...9.9....10.0.....10.1 etc - now this is the average and I'm idle ?? (usually ave about 7 liters per 100kms for the tank)

so I reset it...then average starts showing 73 li/100kms and then starts climbing ??????? (gets to about 86)

I reset it again and now seems fine - anyone have this happen before - should I worry about it - any fix ?

give it about 30 miles to give a true, more accurate reading from a full reset.
