When I use my phone as an ipod it only plays a song once then stops and goes back to the menu, wtf!!!?? Its definitely not on play only once setting.

its doing exactly what you told it to do.

if you select a song it wont keep going.

When I go to artist or a playlist the same thing is happening. Plays once, then goes right back to the springboard.

Re-sync your iPhone with iTunes and see if it then plays normally.

does anyone know the folder/file name that the backup is saved in/as when backing up with iTunes?

I made a back up before jailbreaking yesterday, but i now want to find this file and move it somewhere so that when i next sync my phone and it backs it up it doesn't overwrite the un-jailbroken back up. Does that make sense?!

Its given a date and you can restore to that point at any time.

so it doesn't actually overwirte the same file each time...how do I choose which one? When I restored last night it only gave me the one option/restore point but I've backed it up several times in the past before..

No. hit restore from backup and it gives you a choice.

But to be totally honest, i would NEVER restore from a backup after a Jailbreak.

Always clean.

No. hit restore from backup and it gives you a choice.

But to be totally honest, i would NEVER restore from a backup after a Jailbreak.

Always clean.

Nope. Catagorize does it once you have though.

Me to tbh. How do you un jailbreak without loosing all your contacts then?

Has anyone found something in cydia that gets rid of the dots from the spring board that shownyou what "page" you're on?

I've ran my 3GS jailbroken for 1 week now and have decided to return it to standard. No real problems this time around but or some odd reason I just prefer it as Apple intended. Locked down, restricted and costing me money for apps! Installing 3.1b2 now.

The 3G slows down far worse than the 3GS but having returned my 3GS to standard I can notice the difference. My battery was draining far faster too.

Pre jailbreak I'd expect to have 40% battery remaining when I get home from work at 7pm, I was lucky if I had more than 25% remaining during each day it was jailbroken. I was not using the iPhone any more than usual.

What a fecking awesome guy that dude is. I have 162mb ram free now and its mental fast.

I wouldn't go back to normal. No noticeble slowdown in speed, custom desktop and can get 2 days out of my battery. No complaints from me!

I had mine broken within a day of owning it so cannot really say whether I have slower performance or not. It is blindingly fast compared to my old N82 though! I had never really noticed the lag before I got the new phone.

I'm still learning all this stuff...I noticed this when I opened cydia so I updated it but what does it actually do?!?

+1 my 3g seems to be working fine but then I haven't downloaded too much from cydia etc, I would guess the more stuff you put on the slower it gets..

I have noticed that the 3G signal was not as good while Jailbroken. There is a room in my work where the signal is very poor unless the iPhone is left on one certain area of a shelf. Normally here it has a 4 bar 3G signal. While jb I could not get it to connect to 3G at all while on this shelf, it remained on GPRS at all times. Today with standard firmware it has the full 3G signal again.

Yeah the baseband was on v3.1, I had not clicked it was anything to do with the jb until this morning when I realised it was working properly again.

When I swipe my SBSsettings on it says 44mb: Available Memory.

Do you not have a lot of Apps? Or is something wrong with mine?
