Brilliant results there, the colour is so much deeper! Flame red is a beautiful colour.
I got sick of cleaning my tips after I had the exhaust modified, so sprayed them black.

Yeah I thought it looked good and saved cleaning them every 5 mins, especially after the secondary cat was removed.

Nothing. I'll do it myself at somepoint, most of the time it's not an issue and even when it is, it isn't, as the car backs the power a touch in 5th. Intermittent still and if I get it hot it stops doing it all together.

Urgh, I drive to work in the dark so generally don't notice much... whilst at work someone mentioned my window was smashed.....

Not sure what's gone on here, a stone maybe the part looks to bolt in and out on a frame with a seal so I have found one on ebay which should hopefully be here soon. That'll explain the whistling noise on the motorway this morning

So I have seen this Zoë illuminated heater "upgrade" done @Danith . The Clio has bare plastic around the control, the Zoë is illuminated blue. I've whipped the blue smd/led's off and replaced them with some spare white ones off the old board. Red could be a good choice too though its subtle when lit up. My home setup for soldering wasn't accurate or small enough so I jumped on a workbench this morning at work (much to the amusement of the team) and did it here (showed them I could still use some kit).

just to clarify, the outer 4 LED's circled are not present on the Clio PCB, on the Zoe PCB they are there but blue, I removed the 4 blue ones and replaced them with white ones

You could but still need to mount it in the zoe housing with the opaque surround

Replacement glass is now in. Initially I thought it was the wrong part, but I was looking at it in the wrong orientation. Thanks to @Sash for telling me it was actually correct, multiple times....... not too bad to do at all.

Great cars, I'm very fond of mine, well I've not grown bored of it yet. Ticks so many boxes for me.

Just to show the dash illuminated. Bit of a pointless thing to have done....

I have been trying the induction setup with the itg housing on and off and haven't really noticed any difference other than an increase in induction/turbo noise which I liked, so I've opted to fit the largest filter I could fit in the space. Fitted with a trumpet intake so may aid flow, I really doubt its made a difference the performance, though I'm yet to test it properly. I have a Juke R turbo outlet pipe to go on at some point too. So say better flowing as its a straighter route for the air to travel, again I doubt it'll have a measurable difference but Ill give it a go soon. Ive also given the turbo a look over and found it still spinning freely with no excessive play, so still going strong

Changed to the so say "better" flowing juke turbo out let pipe. The pipe work routing for for the FMIC is quite convoluted and the whole lot could be improved massively which I may look to do in the future, I think you could take a meter or so out of it pretty easily. That said I know it is the way it is to fit on totally stock Clios, All the FMIC kits follow the same route.

Its bank holiday Monday and I've been meaning to give the car a clean for a while. Last clean it had was when I gave in the minor paint correction a few weeks back. I did go to have a blast at it a few days ago but it looks like the capacitor has let go in my Karcher so I've ordered a new one to replace it. That said it still needed a clean. Next best thing for me was to rock up to the localish car wash with my own kit and give it a light clean. Nothing major, rocked up with the citrus prewash, own mit and drying towel. Came up very well and getting there before the they opened meant I wasn't rushed to get it done. After that I gave it a 25mile run including a visit to Tesco to top off with some 99ron (which it was mapped on) Was great to give it a proper push out on really quiet roads, brings a huge grin to my face.

Decided to bite the bullet and get back out on track. Back before kids (15+ years ago) I used to enjoy getting out, used to frequent some of the UK tracks and did multiple trips out to the ring too in various cars from 1.8 16v swapped R5, a 200sx and a couple in my old ITB'd ph1 172. That died off when funds became tighter and my responsibilities changed.

One of the lads at work wants to start getting out and doing some in a Peugeot Sport 308 so booked Mallory on the 21st of June so ive jumped on the same one, should be a good refresher, break me back into them a little. I've also got half day booked at Anglesey in July.

Time to see how the daily Clio holds up

Another thing I did to mine, which I loved and felt much better was a captur/ph2 gear shifter.
At first I did the full captur shifter and edc surround, but then I got a ph2 clio shifter without the letters on the top and a manual clio gaiter and surround, stitched red cotton across the stitching to match the interior and fitted that.

With the nice weather we have been having I decided actually sort the slight blow on the exhaust from the cheepo gaskets id been using. I replaced it with a MLS style one that I was pointed too previously, though I had to extend the bolt holes too fit it.

Whilst there I found that the hanging bracket has fractured, annoying as its hasn't covered many miles and is 6 months old. I have fired an email off to Ktec but tbh I know how it'll go and ill end up removing it to weld it back up.

So I've been meaning to tackle this little job for a while now. When you "gain" access to fit a fuel pump on these Mk4's you are left with a bit of a hole. The Renaultsport way is to hack some metal out and cover it with a panel, a panel I didn't have. Mine was covered up with cardboard and gaffa tape, out of sight and mind..... well I had a few hours spare today so decided to tackle it and make a removable panel to cover the hole.

Started off with some high tech CAD to get the shape I needed and transferred this to some 1.5mm aluminium.

I then bent the sheet to match the shape of the cars floor. Marked through and added some rivnuts. Popped a hole through to allow the wiring to reach the pump. Gave the edges of the chassis a little dress up and hit with some primer to add protection. Found some draft excluder and added that to the panel and bish bash bosh i have a removable fuel pump cover that is a load better than what was originally there..

I think there is a panel available from Renultsport still but I had the material and bits around to make this with no outlay. Thanks for reading

Had a few little jobs to complete, I did the aux belt (didn't video it ) the belt actually looked pretty fresh and the tensioner had the same feel as the new one so I went with the easy option of not replacing that part of it. Ill save it for the future.

Whilst there I actually removed the air deflectors for the wheels. Now this actually pops up as a suggestion on the RS monitor for keeping the brakes cooler at the sacrifice of some MPG. I've done this to help aid the brakes on the upcoming track days.

After replacing the brakes a few weeks back, I have noticed the handbrake was a little higher, so I have done a quick video on adjusting that. Luckily Renault have the adjuster inside the car so it was nice and easy to sort out.

I don't think so? with the triangles removed theres no extra air passage to the brakes

I wouldn't describe the triangle inserts as spoilers (i do need to replace them though)
