opinions of height for track only.

Getting the tracking done by a company thats been recommended on Thursady. The car seems to handle very well but want to get it checked over properly. They dont do height only camber etc so looking for opinions on how the car sits. I can take better pics if needed.

You'll only tell from getting it out and track and testing.

Basically, as low as you can get it, whilst still allowing the suspension to work under the maximum force you can put it under and not scrub. That's what you're aiming for.

Height can also depend on how firm your spring and damper setup is too.

Low and too soft can cause problems, especially if you start hitting the bumpstops.

I've txt the chap who i bought the car off as he tracked the car a few times. I'm led to believe the springs are 70nm? well thats what he said they were. Ive also asked if he had any issues on track.

Just txt the lad who's car it was. Been to Combe, the ring etc and had zero issues on track.

Mine is on b14s and looks like it sits at a similiar height to yours (albeit on 15s and with spacers). Camber wise -2.5 at the front and parallel at the back I believe. I basically asked @NorthloopCup for his recommended settings, wrote them down and handed them to the Geo guys , see photos here;

Note how low at the front this is cornering at Llandow;

On the 15's it rubs at speed on all four corners very, very slightly on track when cornering hard. Have a look in my project thread and you'll see where it rubs as I took a few photos. I am fitting the roll centre kit this winter, and rolling the rear arches which I am hoping means I don't need to raise it. If I did need to raise it, probably 5mm all round would be enough to not have it rubbing bud. Hope that helps.

On 205/50/R15 tyres I run it around 575mm from arch to floor all around.

@NorthloopCup runs it a bit lower than me but he has stiffer springs. Mine would be more similar to B14s.

If you run 195/50 tyres then you could go to 565mm.

The lower you go though the more you compromise the angle of the lower arms.

Your shafts don't chafe your chassis legs do they? I know Mr. Northloop gave me some words of warning running too low.
I run B14's, 2118s and Direzza's, I'm not toooo low and get zero rubbing/chaffing with the big shoulder'd tyre I have.

In that case you are bang in the middle of 205/50/15 and 195/50/15 so you could go with 570mm floor to arch as a starting point.

The bilsteins have been an excellent balance between roadcar / track car. They have performed really well in the 3 years I have had them bud.
Having said that, over time my car seems to be doing less road miles / more track miles, and I may consider moving to something fully adjustable with stiffer spring rates.

As a balance between good on road and good on track, I don't think you can beat the Billies IMO.

Not that I know of
When the roll centre kit is fitted, I am completely redoing my geo and getting it corner weighted so it will probably go up slightly all round.

Ha ha! It is weird with flame red, colour change shows in some photos / lights crazily, then in others, it doesn't.
As long as it is close to pink, I am happy 😂

If you want it to handle you'll need to lift the front end up. 5-10mm minimum I'd say. It's too low how it currently stands imo. Your roll centres and bump steer will be truly awful as well unfortunately. The chassis on the Clio is good at masking it though, and it's only when you drive one that's corrected/sorted you realise you've been driving an oiled up pig on acid.

I'd expect the front bumper brackets to rub the tyres as well unless the car isn't on cup spec increased castor wishbones.

Car looks tidy though.

Thanks, the car is very clean tbf. I was speaking to the chap again before and I'm not one for numbers etc but he said he was doing Combe in 1.24 with his mate in a similar spec doing 1.29. I know times don't mean a huge amount and you guys give great advice. Unsure what to do now lol
