Opinions on chopped springs

Personally I wouldn't even consider them for obvious reasons but seems people still do! Whats everyones opinons?

I'm not considering them just can't believe people do it! Surely the handling would be completed fucked and ridiculously stiff?

Yes, crack on and do it. Makes your ride look proper badman. When the Mot man gets under it and the spring falls on his head and knocks him out you can nick all his tools....brap!

the springs can fall out the cups/ends, which is why they are a MOT fail.

also can weaken them, heat from cutting can make them brittle, the list goes on, generally a bad idea.

Yeah as above I'm not considering doing it! I hadn't even heard of it until a few months ago when I saw a slammed corsa bouncing down the road and my mate said it had chopped springs. Looked stiff as hell!

Theres a load of rural D-Turbo boys over here with chopped springs and the smoke reaking out the back because the turbo is turned up mad amounts but a new craze has landed .......... full windscreen tints !! I couldnt believe the sh*te they were posting about it, proper f*ckin mongs.
 
Scary as hell when I swapped for sportlines a few months back and found one of the fronts had sheered.... Sod doing it deliberately
