Opinions please. '1.9 205' gti Vs 'Valver'

  Clio 172 mk2
well ma mate has had 3 seprate 1.6s and before a had the 172 it felt fast. virtually no body roll on standard suspension really impressive only thing that slowed him down was tires.
he has now got an mi-16 conversion and it blows away everything just about and still handles good with all that power
very fast little cars

my mums cousins son has a rally prepared 205 gti, with the MI16 engine in it - OH MY GOD that things insanely fast, but i dont think its a fare comparison against a standard gti as its pretty damn special compared to the standard one.

the sound is immense, and the acceleration is simply breathtaking!

IMO, the valver haven't got the recognition it deserves (at least in Denmark). I have tried both, along with other of the same class (RS turbo, Uno turbo, Punto GT & Kadett/Astra GSI, and IMO the valver is by far the most special car to be in. Also i think the valver is the car that differs most from the standard line up engineering wise!!!

I've just suddenly remembered - I once went to look at a turbo'd 309 that had been done from the factory I believe - was stupidly quick and I wish I'd bought it now as I've never seen another one!

A 309 Turbo was never factory produced by Peugeot. Turbo Technics conversions where said to be Peugeot approved though. Europe got Mi 16V 309 GTis.

Ah yeah, that was what I meant. I couldn't think who had done it!

The engine bay was literally crammed full, there was just no way you'd have been able to work on it with any ease :S

Was rapid though. I can't think why I didn't buy it now, but gutted I didn't!

Have been out in a couple of Turbo 205's and they are crazy, like you say no room to work on them.
