Origin B2 Speed trap detector

I am thinking of getting the Origin B2 GPS speed trap detector. From all the reviews Ive read online this is the dogs bo***cks of the speed trap detector world!. My only worry is that I have read somewhere that the B2s laser detector and GPS jobby whatsit dont work with heat reflective windscreens like the 182s got. Has anyone got one of these already and does it work in a 182?

Plenty of people have them in 172s and 182s on here. In fact theres even someone who sells them on here too.

Cheers Frosty, sounds good to me.

If anyone out there has got one of these, are they as good as the reviews? More importantly are they easy to fit?

I used to have a snooper s6neo. that worked fine in my 172. The little square bit of glass in the centre of your windscreen is the only part that will allow GPS and Radar signals through. I found there wasnt enough room for both so i put my aerial through my boot lid and attached it to my roof with the magnet just behind my radio aerial. hope this helps.

Very Easy. It can be plugs into cigret lighter, or the battery IIRC
Oh right, just that when I asked about switching one over to my car from another car temporarily, I was told it needed tools to do it

Thanks for all that folks -

Im defo gonna get one, prob ask HAS for price and see if I can get someone to fit it so I dont end up not getting GPS or laser signal - that little square bit of clear screen is very small!

The aerial for the GPS is on the end of a 3 or 5 metre cable which is more than enough to get that comfortably to the back of the car where you can mount it either on the parcel shelf or on a by a side window.

As far as the unit itself goes... it performs exactly like all the reviews said it would. Huge variety of set-up options (most of which are best left as default), and its not missed any cameras, known or not, in the three weeks Ive had it fitted.

If youre going to get one, make sure you get it from Has 16v - pricewise I could find nothing that came close.

In the interior forum Ill be posting up pictures of my install tomorrow... have a look if you want to get some ideas.

No you can take the unit from car to car, and with the intoruction of the Origin B2 Solo it is made even easier.

Thanks for your comments about my service guys! :) nice to see happy customers

Has 16v: Are you an approved Origin reseller? Its just that you only get a couple of weeks warranty instead of the full 2 year warranty if you buy from a non-approved dealer.
