  Golf GTD Mk7
imo ctr and 1*2 is not much in it at all. very similar in performance, just a different feel to drive.

So, given the fact the CTR is better in so many other ways stated, yet it apparently doesn't have much feel to the steering...

The clio remains a better car?
For me, yes. The feel of the whole car is better. For someone who puts a premium on enjoying driving the car, it's the better car. For someone that gets worried by rattles, space for their make-up, the CTR's the better car.

As said, not much in it performance wise, but I'd rather drive a slow car with a good chassis (mx5 etc) than a quick car that isn't that enjoyable to push. Not saying it's terrible (bar the steering), but it's undeniable that the RS is the better drivers car.

Standard for standard disagree the chasis is better on the CTR. The idependent rear suspension is undeniably better than the RS, yes turn in is better on the clio as is the steering feel, but thats it. The civic would be quicker on high speed circuits without doubt.

I do not own either, but I have driven both around track, so in my opinion, I'm un biased.

The CTR is a better car.

Yes.

For me, a car with poor steering is simply a poor car overall. No matter how good the rest of it is. The steering is the sole reason why id didnt buy a CTR back in '05.

M3's are epic on track btw :D bit of a challenge in the wet though lol

I beg to differ...

But, let's be fair this is a clio forum, so biased answers are likely to be expected
