Paint Correction

  A special one.
Hi all im going to have a crack at the paint work on my other halfs car. The paint work is in poor condition/no shine and by the looks of things there seems to be some old bird poo marks that have been cleaned off with a pots and pans green pad..:(
It will be a good car for me to pratice detailing on :) The car is sliver btw and im not expecting a show car finish it would just be nice to see it shine for once (not had a drop of wax in 6 years or so)

My question is what compounds and pads are best for me to buy? or shall i just get this kit? http://shop.autofinesse.co.uk/revitalise-kit

Oh and whats good to get the black plastic trims back to black instead of the grey/white that they are at the moment?

So far i have a DA
Hex-logic white, blue and black pads
AF Rejuvenate
AF Tripple
Prima Amigo

Any help will be great

Thanks Scott

Rejuvenate and a white hex pad will remove a lot of the dead oxidized paint. May also remove some minor swirls depending on what car and how hard the paint is. It will be a good start to learn the basics and practice with. This alone will transform an old tired uncared for paint.

stepping up from that you'll need to look into proper correction compounds and firmer pads. The AF kit has everything you need and is a good beginner kit, but try rejuvenate with a white or black hex pad first, and provided you get the hang of working it properly you'll get good results that you'll be pleased witb
