Painting Engine Cover

Can i just spray the engine cover in the paint i want then lacquer it, or do I need to use special paint? I have some metallic paint i bought ages ago and would like to spray it thyat colour, then put a cliosport sticker on, then lacquer over that to seal the sticker in, would this work??

possibly, though its better to use heat resistant paint

i used normal paint and lacquered it, but it discoloured after a week

hmm... really wanna use this colour paint. Could i use a heat resistant primer?

if its the plastic engine cover its fine to spray it using conventional paint. i did mine in a candy red with a small flip coat over the top, and then put a k-tec racing sticker on, and then lacquered it on. been on for about 20,000 miles and no problem at all regarding colour or the sticker.
