My bro's comps is broke, his silly gf moved it while it was on, now for some reason just after the pic of windows xp with the blue bar that moves underneath it just freezes, black screen nothing.


Runs fine in safe mode?

try doing a system restore in safe mode

if that doesnt work

try booting from the xp cd and go into recovery console and run chkdsk, see if that helps

Give all the connectors inside the case a push, just to check that some haven't come loose...

^What he said. If it only occurred whilst being moved then something has come loose that doesn't get used in safe mode.

ARRGG had to reformat it, took everything out and put it in, no difference!

Read the above posts,its Hardware

I.E Something's loose,cable rubbing on a fan,Loose IDE cable to HDrive/MBoard

Open her up and chek all connections
