People with very low suspension...

  182 Cup
What did you do to stop the rubbing at the front? I'm only getting rubbing when the suspension is compressed at higher speeds round a corner.

Today I've taken the wheels off to see exactly where it is and the arch liners were visibly scuffed just where the front bumper joins. I've cut that section of the liner, but just behind it there is a bracket with a single bolt through it. The bracket has a slight lip - will I need to bend this out of the way to give another 6mm clearance or grind it down?

What have others done?

Androids your man, he doesnt have any suspension

You can touch the ground with your fingers whilst sitting on the roof

I cut the lip off the bracket and primered the edge, and have cut the majority off the arch liner out

im on a 35mm drop with 45 profile tyres. i also have 3mm spacers and get rubbage on th arch liners. my plan is to grind that bit with the bolt away and cut the liner out.

Mine doesnt rub but they are quite stif tbh

I'm on the hard AST option, stiff enough! Just had new tyres, so I understand that they're going to have a slightly larger circumference than the older tyres that came off. Problem is that the wheel offset and suspension design is slightly different between the 172 and 182. I don't get any rubing at low speeds on full lock though.

This is how low it is, definitely not the lowest I've seen:

Ive cut out some arch liner after letting it rub so i can see where it needs to go. And ive also bent back the bemper bracket a little. Mine is lower than yours and i only get rubbage on full lock every now and again.

I know this is off topic but I don't get why people slam these cars. Even if I had coils I'd not go lower than 30-40mm. That Inferno Cup looks -60mm at least? Either way if it's causing poroblems then surely it's not helping the handling? Looks broken.

looks good mate, mine is all the way dwn at the back and bout 65 on front on gaz coillies, had scrubbing problems too, but have now got 15"s and all problems gone and looks/handles the part too, you should cut out part of arch lining with knife then beat/bend the bracket out the way:approve:

I agree, I also always thought Inferno was a function over form chap too!

I've not seen many examples of almost perfect lowering, but the two cars posted in this thread would be.

In both cases the wheels fit the arches, but the wheel arch doesn't cover any of the tyre. If it was me I'd say they'd be perfect about 3mm higher in both cases.

I absolutely cannot bear the 'collapsed suspension' look when people lower their cars too much, it just looks silly.

Lol! I am. If it doesn't 'work' it'll get changed. If it can't run at that height and perform well it will be raised.

I'm very happy with the handling with the AST's, and I didn't ask for it to be 'slammed' when I took it there, but I can put up with a bit of occasional discomfort for it to work well on track.

Oddly enough I have just had my Cup dropped on KW V2's and get exactly the same scrubbing issue, i am off to Halfords in a Bit for a Dremmel to cut back the arch liners a bit, as it only scrubs when on power going round corners, Handling is Awesome thoug, had it all set up by a company who set up Porshe Cup racers :)

Mines rubs like fcuk all the time ! I havent done anything to arches yet though ! there is a part of the liner where there is like a square block, sits towards the front bumper. Im going to cut that off and i should have no problemss anymore

As already siad you can grind the lkp of the Bracket away and cut the Plastic away just by the Bracket and it should cure the problem,

I get a bit of scrubbibg on shocking country roads at medium/high speeds :( but I haven't ground down the bracket yet.

All about the aggressive stance, they look a bit dull when set level imo.

It was setup by a motorsport specialist, I don't question their reasons.

oh dear. tbh it's too low at the front imho. I too have ast hard, and mine suspension is currently set at cup racer height +20mm. it doesn't nose down like yours and day's does.
And no rubbing either

days is very nose down ! I prefer the back to be over the tyre slightly more. or in my case.. covering half the tyre

H&R Perfect and it doesn't even rub on full lock.

That looks awesome. Slightly higher than the Inferno, or perhaps just a better picture? IMO the Inferno is ever so slightly too low for the perfect look. Well, for the perfect look as far as I'm concerned, but it's not my car so who cares? I definitely think it's all going a bit gay when you're having problems with liners etc.

What is the bracket for?

As far as I can tell it's for the bumper to bolt on to. After that happened the bumper had been moved out about an inch on that side. I pushed the bumper back in to line up with the wing (just slotted straight back withut a problem). I'm thinking about cutting more of it out as the bumper is still solid.
