Performance Mods for 172 Mk 2

What would be your choices of performance mods (to increase 0-60 time !) to the mk 2 172 if you had a budget of ?

A : £500

B : £1000



Anyone ?

Remove rear seats, remove spare wheel. Total cost £0.

IK, exhaust and Superchip with custom map - about £1,000.

the only other really effective thing would be Nitrous @ about £500

Ive been thinking about engine mods too (when the warranty runs aout anyway) I dont particularly like loud engine noise all the time so Im about 90% decided on nitrous.

If only! Cant find a de-cat for the Mk2 at the moment, though k-tec have promised one for their exhausts.

Isnt it enough to remove the cat and put a tube instead

no. lamda sensors either side of the cat. if you de-cat, you can at best trick the sensors using a resistor between them but eventually will get a light on your dash. Not too sure about the way the ecu would handle this either - so no decat mk2 for now..

So I just drill a hole in the tube, thread it and put the sensor in or just turn of the sensor in the ecu.

my vts is twin lambda and my warning light is on, dont give a sh*t tho i just leave it be, id rather it go faster than than not just for that light, so people wont get one just cos of the light??????????
