Petrol flap bolts/Rivets

Looking to tackle the rust behind my petrol flap at some point soon, but before i drill out the rivets just wondering if anyone knows the size of them?

Has anyone just replaced them with some button head bolts? Will be easier to remove and clean behind in the future too.

Yeah I replaced mine with m5 button heads, painted them satin black too.

Did you rivnut them or just nylocs held from behind when tightening?

Nylocs for me, couldn't be arsed to deal with any rivets.

I got 16mm as that's all Screwfix had, you could go shorter or cut them down.

I'll try and get a photo tomorrow for reference.

Ordered some m5 x 12. Already have some m5 x 20 flange button heads coming from along the sills.

I did the same, was much easier than messing about with rivvets when wanting to give it a clean.
