Is the bottom 1/4 on a ph2 172 massive or something? For the top 3/4 it says I have only used 7 gallons?

Top quarter disappears in about 50 miles in all the 172/182s ive driven.

i always fill up in halves, on my clios the first half disappears super fast on a full tank

Yeah it's not a linear scale at all. Mine goes from full to 3/4 in about 100 yards, then evens out.

No last fill and usage was a recorded 34mpg upon my own calculation.

The comment of 20mpg was refering to Roy's non linear remark. I have used "3/4" of a tank and only 240 miles - however really I have only used 2/3's but if you scaled my 240 miles against that reading my mpg would be lower that what it actually is of which I made a joke it was as low as 20mpg but was in no way being serious.

The tanks a fruity shape, hence non-linear fuel gauge.
