Gave the car a first run out after i had sorted the height on the coilovers.

It was a lovely day up in the dales so took some piccies near menwith hill.

Got a bit carried away as usual.

Does look really fresh that cos of the colourcoding, sits really well aswell, nice mate :)

Cheers guys!

I'm looking into getting a splitter but its already pretty low at the front so it will have to be fairly small.

Love it. Any idea on how much you've dropped it by?

Thanks mate, no idea on numbers to be fair, i did it by eye and just made sure the two front struts matched on the height.

I'd guess somewhere in the order of 70mm.

looks mint mate. have you taken the adjusters off the rear?

Cheers man, no I havent and to be honest that never even occured to me! If i take some weight out the back in the future i might have to go down that route.

Very nice mate

Whats your thoughts on the VMaxx coilovers on the B roads then ;)

Really rather impressed with them to be honest. Was quietly expecting them to be dire seeing as they are so cheap but genuinely dont have any bad words to say for them.

They are bumpy over very poor roads but then so is the standard suspension. They're never crashy and the damping is spot on, you arent bouncing around in town and when your out on the B roads its an awful lot of fun to push the car a bit.

Easily the best bit about them is the fact the have completely killed body roll. The tyres now give up grip before the suspension runs out of talent which for some reason puts a huge grin on my face.

To say the camber and overall geometry is still off they were a lot of fun over the back roads up near me, and where those pictures were taken.

Overall im surprisingly impressed

so would you say the camber is way off or does it just need fine tuning? also do you think purchasing camber bolts is neccessary?

The camber is only off on mine as i had to set it to full positive so the tyre didnt catch on the actual strut

Arent the bolts you get with them camber bolts? They certainly allowed me to alter the camber.

When i get some spacers so that the wheel doesnt catch back on the strut it will be going back to negative until i can get them set up properly

@ Daniel - the bumper is staying put dont worry treacle

Thanks for the review Tom

Is there something funny about setting the camber with vmaxx coilovers ?

I heard you couldnt adjust the camber on them, however in the kit the top bolt you get for the strut to hub arrangement, allows you to easily set either positive or negative camber, i imagine with a bit of skill you could set them somewhere inbetween.

Having never used another type of coilover i've not seen how the others do it.

Ace, the roads round there are mega... Always where i go for a blast up Norwood edge and stop in the Sun Inn for grub. :D

Cheers guys.

One of my favourite sections just before the Sun Inn.
Still not quite as good as the roads out from skipton all the way up to the buttertubs. Going to have to attack that soon i think, not done it in the 172 yet.

Saw it in halfords car park the other day mate, looked ace.
You've done a proper job on the colour-coding too!

PS. Any chance you could get that dude upstairs on bikes to fix my rear wheel "under warranty" ? ;) £60 for a new one wtf !?
