Ph1 172 Fuel filter replacment how to?

Can anyone give me a rough how to on how I get this f**king thing off lol. :clown:

I've done the usual search and all I can find is that the Ph2 fuel filter is in the tank. I know where mine is, I can even see the little b*****d but for the life of me can't figure out how to remove it. It's in some little plastic cage thing but I can't get it to budge...I'm probably being thick and it's no doubt dead easy but it's doing my head in now.

Anyone able to offer advice? Please?

LOL do they not just slide or prize out of the plastic holder?

just pull gently down on the black plastic holder (where the leg holds the filter) then just slide it out of the cradle towards the middle of the car

Might end up doing that as I can't f**king do it lol. To make it worse it a lump of crap off the chassis fell in my eye whilst I was swinging off the plastic cage and now I've lost a contact so it will have to wait until my next load turn up because there's no chance I'm attempting to work under a car whilst in four eyes mode.

I'm cursed today I'm sure.

I'm not at liberty to disclose the name of my employer...but I do, do IT for a government department that may or may not be related to tax matters. Think I've covered my back enough there...and thanks for that Ben .

I've tried using my arms, hands, feet and a big f**king mallet. It's having none of it and now I'm disabled it's going to have to wait lol.

Have you still not paid that SA bill yet? But no I can't change the system to make it a repayment instead, well I could but I like my freedom and getting paid lol. Speaking of SA repayments though I got a lovely one in February .

PMSL thanks. Trust me I know how it should come out but the difference between what it should do and what it will do are too annoyingly different things.

I already know how it's going to play out...I'll force the two plastic retaining clips open on the cage, they will snap off and I'll then sit and sulk. Next the car will burst into flames.

Use a lighter to soften the plastic cage. Then it'll fly out

No mate . Everytime I'm just about to order my Stealth and remove la chav something on the f**king thing breaks. Even with my immense mechanical skillz I like to send somethings off to the garage to help with the recession...

It will however be on soon and in time for FCS. Will either of your Clio's be there though that's the question? Obviously if you need any hints, tips or mechanical advice with your projects give me a shout... :clown:

Must of added AT LEAST 30bhp easily, but combined with the new plugs, oil and pollen filter (no air filter as my current airbox is drilled and I'm not wasting my time until it's replaced...feel free to donate Ph1 airboxes ) it has to be peaking at 300bhp now PMSL.
