While taking the ph1 out today after fitting new wheels it started grinding. Thought something was catching so checked behind the wheel but nothing. The noise gradually got louder but disappears when the clutch is deactivated. Sounds something like a driveshaft.

any ideas?

thanks
carl

Sounds like the clutch release bearing TBH. Although it could be a driveshaft as it does it under load....

If it goes anyway when you depress the clutch pedal and comes back when you release the clutch i'd go with release bearing as dave says.
