It came off a car with 2 exhausts I think... My exhaust has rusted through on the back box so is now blowing So I am going to make use of them holes :)

You'll look like a plank in the meantime.

You seem to be forgetting the spoiler, lights and wheels btw.

It's alright I always look a plank whilst driving they will have to do until I scrape together enough money for a dual back box don't think I'll need the full system as my standard pipe is already there as for the lights if you mean rear lights I'm keeping the black ones I love the look of them against the red spoiler is another possibility or I may just spray the black one body colour as for wheels I have a set of 15" OZ F1 whic just need new tyres then they're going on

Cheers though

Get some nice new clean number plates, will make the back look loads cleaner

Thanks dude will look into them :)

Those cutouts are too far apart for a 182 rep exhaust though, unless your just going for a badboy exhaust system?

Definitely need the spoiler and the lights, it's not a replica without them.

Why didnt you just spray your current bumper? The PH1 rear bumpers are the same anyway apart from the 172 ones are colour coded :rasp:

Need the spoiler and wheels to finish it off :) pics from the front?

Also, how did you smooth over the badges on the boot?

Im not sure ill goto a local exhaust company and get one made I just need the back of the exhaust as said. Im not getting massive exhausts just small enough to fit in the exhaust cutouts (6" I think? )

I may look for someone breaking another 172 and get the spoiler the lights are staying I just love the black lights

I wanted another set of bumpers so when it comes time to sell if I cant sell as it then ill set it back to standard and sell the bumpers on no harm done :)

Pics from the front: (I ran out of paint so this friday I am getting some more lol)

http://www.cliosport.net/forum/showthread.php?575170-Mk2-ph1-to-172-conversion

and to debadge it was a ball ache I need to strip the paint and redo it as when I took the masking tape off it fell onto the wet paint DOH what I did

Pry the badges away with something not shard and cant damage your paint (screwdriver with electrical tape on or something)

you will see 3 black holes where the Renault is and 2 where the Clio is just open the boot and remove the boot door liner (3 - 4 torx screws if memory serves and some poppers)

push out the black pins (they take a bit of force I used the end of a screwdriver) then I cut up 2 strips of plastic from some packaging off anything really as long as its stiff plastic

masking taped the plastic inside the boot over the holes then replaced the boot door liner

prepped the holes ready for body filler then its bodywork from there fill the holes... sand to shape... clean any dust away... mask up and paint

chavmobile!

Each to there own Its to my taste thats all im fussed about

Noo! Don't spray that black strip red! Get a spoiler lol! Those things make the rear look like a balding man!

I hate the black strip it looks daft imho especially with my black lights. The spoiler im still thinking about lol

Cheers guys

I'm a bit lost for words in here if I'm honest...

No matter what, get a spoiler, they're cheap as chips and easy to paint yourself off the car... I added one to my pov spec mk2 ph1 and it made a great difference.

Now, there was the nice bit...

Personally, I'd sell that bumper, it WILL look utter shite, putting two 6" exhaust on there WILL look horrific.

Honestly, get yourself a dirt cheap ph1 172 rear bumper, (pick up one with the paint a bit tatty as you'll have to paint it anyway) but with no holes in it.

If you want a recessed exhaust, at least do it properly, and do a decent single slash cut pipe.

Next, I'd remove all the stickers from the rear window (maybe barr the CS one) and remove the rear wiper, it'll tidy it up 10 fold and cost nothing.

Then I'd stop wasting money on silly things and get those o.z f1's on.

Then, I'd lower it.

Then I'd make sure the paint was all good everywhere, and stop.

Thanks Rob can you show me a single slash exhaust? I havent got a clue on exhausts (as you can probably tell) Ive always likes the twin exhaust look I think they look pretty neat. The rear windscreen wiper will still have the post sticking out if I removed it and I would like that very much also I do use it quite often it annoys me if drops of water are on my rear screen (OCD). Stickers im going to be doing something with them soon anyway so I may be going that way. Just waiting on being paid this friday so I can get tyres on the OZs and get them on then get the Lenso's on fleebay. Lowering is a must dropping 35 - 40mm due to a speed bump riddled area I live in :(. All the paint needs a touch up in different places so once everything else is right im going to touch up the rest of the car.

Thanks

Dude, I live in london and my splitter is 25mm off the ground! No excuses!

I'll dig you out a decent example of the sort of exhaust you want later, but in the mean time, go ph1 bumper shopping, honestly, one of two things will happen...

a) You'll have a custom exhaust made to fill those two hideous holes and then regret it, as the exhaust looks like something out of fast car 10 years ago, and you look like a soopachav.

b) You'll have an exhaust made to just fill one hole, it'll be a nice exhaust, but then you'll want to fix the other hole, so you'll spend forever trying to repair and repaint it. After months of hard work you'll sit behind the car and cry because you wish you'd just bought a decent bumper in the first place.

What was wrong with your old bumper anyway ? As above, should have just painted that. If you're unsure, ask a silly question on here rather than doing, and .. well .. the above TBH.

That in no way shape or form represents a ph1 172. The colour for starters.....

It needs front bumper, wings, skirts, spoiler, lights and the right wheels. Oh, and the engine and interior lol !

Seriously, just save your money / time / effort. Stick the F1s on, maybe consider some lowering springs if insurance allows, and leave it at that.

Not trying to be 100% cynical here but I just really can't see what you're trying to achieve ? At the very least you're taking it all with a pinch of salt and aren't acting like a clownshoe like a lot of people who come on here with 'alternate' ideas. ;)

Im just going for a car which is similar to the 172 but to my taste (sure alot of you will say well your wrong getting this and that done) but if im honest its my car at the end of the day im driving it lol weather it makes me look a **** or not. I just didnt want a bog standard Clio they are boring in my eyes. Also by doing this im learning alot about cars and how to do things on them and hopefully in future it will save me alot of mechanic fee's which is the main reason im doing it. Also keeps me busy on a weekend as there is never anything to do in this area.
