Ph1 172 Removing Bumper/Wings

Hey, I am interested in finding out how to do this.. I have read the guide on the bumper and I have no problem with that part.. But the rest.. Hmm.. Any info or is there a link for this.. I have been searching around CS for ages now with no joy.. Trying to correct a Front bumper mis-alignment.. Thanks guys

Wings are simple...

open bonnet and on each sides there should be about 3 bolts, theres one right behind the bonnet hinge on each side,

now open the driver door, theres 2-3 in there,
on the sill theres 2,
Need to remove the headllights aswell obviously, and just slide the wings out

Thanks for the info on that.. Does sound pretty painless.. Do you no at all if the wings are adjustable? say, undoing a few bolts you can slide it or move it about slightly? seems like mine sit to high.. If you look on the post I wrote in the section about 'Typical French' you can see what I mean..

Its easy tbh to remove the wings, just take your time and keep the bolts in one place,

The wings are not adjustable to my knowledge their fixed, the only part you can move to make the bumper sit better is the bumper itself,

Use a bolt and nut in the wheel arch were the bumper connects to, to make it sit better

Something not right with my bumper then.. I think it maybe slightly warped.. I had the bumper off today and was refitting it for about 3 hours to try and get it to fit better, but no joy! Dang

You just putting the bumper on and looking at it? or have you bolted one side on first?

how do yo umean fit better? you know that they're not the best fit anyway?

I am aware they don't fit wonderfully.. But on my mates 172 and also many more I have seen the bumper at the point where it pops in under the wing usually is popped in under the wing and not hanging out like this:

look under the headlight,you can see abit of the wing sitting a couple of mm higher than there other part.. see it ??

maybe try and check that your wing is on properly ?

mine does this too
not for long tho i'm re-fitting it this weekend with the help of some blocks of wood and tiger seal, that fcuker will hold it in place

oh and wait for the comments on silver visions

Mine does it on this side also, it's where the little tab has worn down it keeps popping out of the hole. I don't think there is much can be done about it .

Yeah I noticed this myself.. But like I say, I had the bumper off earlier yesterday and it had no play what so ever.. I am thinking perhaps the wing is not seated right.. but then this is on both sides too that it don't seem to line up :S
