ph1 172 seems to have drunk 5 litres of oil?!

So i changed the oil about 1.5k ago and just now i went to start the car and it has virtually none in it. aka barely reads on the dipstick.

I cant see any leaks, and it hasnt been dripping oil anywhere...

So surely they oil consumption isn't this bad?

From the top - bottom marker of the dip stick is not 5L

its below the bottom marker, that extra bit makes up for the litre-age

if its been screwed all its life could be worn piston rings so burning oil

sounds like it's used just over 1 litre, not 5 litres. That's a BIT more than normal. if there's no leaks visible, it's probably stem seals
