Love it LJ, how much were the brakes? Straight swap on?

Erm, brakes cost me about £80 to convert in total,

Braided brake hoses i already had,
callipers £20
Carriers £20
Discs roughly £35

yes its all a straight swap

I have thought about it, looked at getting a ph1 172 as a donor car so I had all the parts I need, just unsure if it's worth it... I'm in two minds ATM!

I need some advice guys, ive found a clio RSI 1.6 mk2 ph1 for sale for £700, same millage as mine, same colour as mine.. do i buy it and swap everything from my 5 door onto it and sell the 5 door as a standard car, or do i just put up with having a 1.2 for a while longer and save money and have cheap insurance? whats your thaughts guys?

Personally I would swap.

What's the point u can't hammer it now being so low and stretched tyres keep the 1.2

And also, I'd put up with the 1.2 a bit longer. I was gonna swap from a 1.2 to a 1.6, But just stuck it out a bit longer and got a 172!

Yes the carriers were spot on thanks mate, and yeah this is what I'm thinking guys, for all the effort and money I think I'll just keep hold of the 1200 for now, and make the most of the cheap insurance and fuel

now my second problem... Camber, I have camber bolts fitted to the front, and I have them set fully negative, but I still have positive camber ??? How can I sort this out ?

If it's the 8V one, no chance!

I'd be tempted if it was the 16v but tbh, putting a 'fast' engine in this car will kind of kill off its character.

no no no... i prefer the smooth front end look.. i shall be putting some shiney new headlights in, but just the same as what ive got, which have been split apart and the backing painted the same colour as the car..

im pretty sure it was a 16V.. ive decided against the idea anyway now, think im gna just make the most of the cheap insurance/fuel/etc... ive got the cooper S to go fast.. would of just been fun to put a F4R in the 5door and suprise some people!! i suppose ill just have to be sensible lol!

Hi I have got a mk2 5 door to, I'm looking for a coil over kit for mi car, any suggestions? I would like to get a spax rsx or another one that fits on my car, but I am not pretty sure because I've read that coil overs only fits on 172 , 182, cup and trophy....

Any coilovers will fit. just get coilovers for a 1.2, the fact it's a 5 door is fine.

Need to know what your bolt hole spacing is dude, if it's 52mm you only have the choice of Vmaxx!!

If you have a Clio k4m, it's probably the 1.6 which will have a 58mm bolt spacing - Ta-Technics/Raceland/rokkor coilovers if you're going cheap. Hope you dont have a sunroof because it'll become rattle-tastic!
