so after crashing my 172 and with it possibly being a right off and not worth going through insurance im gonna take the blow to my wallet.
i have a few questions tho. so i have the 172 with all the bits ect would it be a easy swap to put it in a ph1 1.2/4? can the suspension and brakes ect all be used?
ill probly do it myself and find help from someone whos done somthing like it before.

basically im after any info on it anything id need to know and of any costs i might incure.

whats insurance like on these things?

this is basically what im thinking white ph1 with all black bumpers and sleelies with 172 engine, brakes, coilovers and have it stripped.

It can be and has been done.
Ill find the thread in a min.
Basically you swap the engine, driveshafts, steering rack, interior loom (speifically the dials), fuel pump sender etc. Ive done it to mine it took a fair amount of work but its getting there. I have a ph2 1.2 and had to swap pretty much everything on the damn car lol. Insurance isnt so bad currently £1352 through adrian flux. Inc mods like coilovers, aftermarket alloys. Im 21 with 1 NCB.

thanks yeah any help is apretiated so would you say its less on insurance than a normal 172?

From the insurance quotes i have it seems to be yea. Also with a hybrid you get the benefit of keeping the original cars tax. ie mine was a 1.2 16v so i pay £100 a year and that stays the same with the 2.0 in.
