Phase 1 dipped headlamp bulb.. HB3??

Ok,

My Phase 1 172 has a bulb out.. on the dipped headlamps (the normal driving headlamp)...

Took the bulb out tonight, it's an HB3 ... are these really £36 a pair from Eurocarparts (which is cheap)??????? fk me.. I was expecting to pay like £4 or something.. why are they so special.. and sorry to sound dumb but are they 'Xenon' headlamps?

Yep they are HB3, they are not Xenon though. Halfords bulb about £5-10.

Can someone explain the difference between Xenon and non?.. I see you can get HB3 Xenons.. can I use those in my Ph1?
