The ramp makes life so much easier, couldn't imagine doing all the grinding work on axle stands, would have swallowed half of it!
Looks minty pal
If you've not seen them already read these threads to see what all the morons have been doing, for a bit of inspiration on where to clean next😂

Hi all. I'm new to the French car scene. I stumbled a cross this 172 cup as my previous track car was set on fire on my drive :( Here it is So plan is to build it for track/weekend blast and a trip or 2 to the NurburgRing. I'm coming from a vag back so new to the renault way and N/A...cliosport.netCovid182 the longest clutch change ever
Hi all, I bought my little 182 on a whim after exploding the LSD on my (up until then) daily, initially I wanted to give a little French hot hatch a go as its something I've never owned. Initially it was only going to be a temporary run around but suddenly one month turned into a year...cliosport.netRusty’s Titanium 182 take 2!
And so here it is, or I guess I have ended up here. So as many will know I have spent the last months of furloughed living working on a titanium 182 I purchased after weeks of looking in a moment of frustration in not finding what I was looking for. The car was great in that it kept my mind...cliosport.netJekyll's RB182 Progress Thread
After having a Volvo for a while, i missed the little clio. I decided to do an advert for it which i posted on here. The volvo sale was going to fund another clio, so i put on the advert that i would P/X for a mondial 172 cup or a 182 with no real colour preference. (I thought i'd get a titanium...cliosport.netFred and James’ Clio 182 Racecar Project
I’ve wanted to start a project thread for a while but progress on the car has been a little of the slow side whilst doing the fabrication work on the shell so there wouldn’t be regular updates. However we have just started to paint it so now there is light at the end of the tunnel so thought it...cliosport.net

That was originally the plan! However I decided against it as I'm worried about snapping/spinning the captive nuts inside the chassis. The front ones don't look impossible to retrieve if they did but the rears look like you would have to cut into the chassis 😬Remove the subframe and install from the bottom!
I hate to admit it but with a garage full of tools, I don't have a swan neck spanner set 🤣 I managed to get a shallow socket onto the front ones and a normal ring end spanner on the rears. The only one that was a problem was the drivers side front, seemed like the nut was already rounded off, not sure if someone else had had a go before 🤷♀️😂 Put a flat head screwdriver into the clip and ugga dugga the bolt. The clip pings out and then you can easily get a swan neck onto the nut.
Lots. Karl pilkington is my spirit guide 😁Moan much.
To be fair despite my little moan it wasn't all that bad of a job. I would imagine it would be easier for most folk with mine being sat in a barn for a few years 🤣(I didn't remove my subframe because I thought the clips would be annoying too...... but I don't have a ramp )
Least you can get the subframe all nice now and the engine should be a doddle to get back in.
Also the high temp dinitrol seems to be pretty good for the hot areas towards the back of the bay.
100%, will probably continue in the summer when I can mess around with it on the portable scissor lift outside 😁definitely best approach mate as discussed, risk of loosing faith and burning out with the hours you were putting in on the car
come back fresh later in the year
4x4 turbo with a knocky bottom end 😭Nice work
