Phase1 172 help needed

  Some of a Clio 1.8 16v
Basically if you have a phase 1 and you know your way arond the engine bay I need you to do me a favour. Could someone please take a look at the lambda plug on the engine loom for me and tell me which wires go to which letters (A, B, C, D it should be). Basically when we took our engine out the breaker my heavy handed mate pulled the wires out the plug and theres 24 combinations possible to put them back in and i'm loosing the will to live. The wiring diagrams have again proved useless:mad: .

Cheers,Chris

Cheers fella. We tried guessing it and it ran beautifully but as soon as it gets warm it brings the revs right up.

Right, theres a sensor in the exhaust in the down pipe before the cat. It looks a like like a spark plug with 4 wires coming out of it (black, green and 2 white if my memory serves me correctly). The after about 10cm of wire there is a small 4 wire plug connection where the wires come out brown, pink, beige and green i think. this is the order I need. The plug is marked abcd, so I need a: pink, b: brown etc or something.

Thank you for looking and I desperately hope you can help me out. :)

right matey i got covered in crap but i hink i can help

the plug on the lambda sise has the following:

A: WHITE
B:WHITE
C:BLACK
D:GREY

the wiring loom side of the plug is as follows:

A:BROWN (ish)
B:pINK (ish)
C:GREEN
D:GREY (ish)

the prob i had is as expected the wiring was very dirty and i had very little room to move under there but does that make any sense matey?
