Photoshop problem

Im trying to use the "Art history Brush Tool" to place a star like twinkly on the edge of a letter, but when I click the mouse once on the corner, it places the star way off from where I placed my mouse and its also places three or four stars as well. Driving me mad, Any ideas?

Any ideas guys, this is driving me mad. One single click produces several entries

you got everything turned off in the brush presets? windows > brushes, in brushes roll out make sure there is nothing ticked, everything set to 0.

^^ thats the problem, it will have scattering on and the likes!

Which version are you using? Basically go into brush properties and untick them all.
