Picking up 182 on Saturday

Finally after 7 weeks of waiting, my 182 has arrived at the dealer and should be picking it up on Saturday (pending PDI check was told).

Since I have not owned a new car before and my first question would be, can someone explain what a PDI check is and how long does it usually take?

Also picked up couple of things from threads before about items to look out for:

missing front splitter

Mats

2 x Tyre foam

Boot net (not sure what this is?)

no dents on exhausts

scratches near door handles

locking wheel nut box, with 1 key and 4 spare nuts not locking

dash for scratches

Hope I havent missed anything out.

The Pdi check is basically getting the car ready for you to pick up.I got my car 2 days after the dealer took delivery of it.The above list of things to look out for is just about spot on.I had most of that in mind when i went for mine and apart from a scartch which they sorted and the splitter not quite fitted as well as id imagined (Which they did on the spot) it was fine.

Good luck and enjoy, you will spend next week grinning like a fool !!

Funkyjahooner - just wanted to make sure, as I have read on this forum before, someones car were kept at the dealers for a long while as it failed the PDI check (so rather worried!).

Roll on Saturday, coz its Va Va Voom time...

PDI is Pre Delivery Inspection i think, its basically a check list the dealer goes through before they hand it over. its as much for them as for you, this because you cant go back and say such and such was like that when i got it and i want it repaired.

sure someone will tell me if im wrong.

also you should get a pdi complete stamp in the front of your log book, also not 100% on that but thats the way its been on every other new car ive bought

Dealer called me today, mine is currently sitting a Le Harve waiting for a boat trip to Southampton - yey not too long now! Getting very excited!

Picked mine up last Friday done all the checks ,but the front mats had the rubber plugs missing from them.

Check the tyre pressures ,handbook says 33psi front 30 rear .I checked mine when i got home 36 psi all round ,nice one Renault.

Hip_spasm I have no idea either, hence the picture link!

Unlike most people, I am on my first Reno so Id need all the help i can get, anyone?

Ill be picking mine up in 8 weeks approx so i would also like to know a few bits here and there...dents on exhausts?!

Underneath the car?

yes thats right underneath the car... that was a snipet from another thread.

just included here for completeness.

Gs, 8 weeks to go, glad that my waiting is finally over.

Yes these are the buttons Im talking about salesman ordering them for me .He said a lot of people dont wont them this is why they were not on my car. Me thinks he s talking Bull. They probably got lost just like the splitter gets lost sometimes.

Cheers leven.

Less worrying now that i know what it is. But i know what you mean, think Tom was missing his front splitter and had to wait about 6 weeks before it got delivered, so i will definately be on the look out for mine.

Such hassle for a small piece of plastic.

The plugs are the top half of the fixing spikes that keep the mats in place. Without them the mats will move which is a potential risk if say lodged under brake pedal.

Mine were in place but not fixed ....... you need to stick the spike into the carpet and clip the mat onto the spike using the plugs.

......dont leave home without them ...... they are essential.

pe hope this works as first post in forum
