PICS! NEW HILL POWER INDUCTION

good point, lol hadnt noticed that  yeah it is a bit grubby didnt think yours would be like that. as for the kit looks good but im just wondering if it gets much air to it being in that position also is there normally a dirty great hole in the bulkhead ?

i just went and checked mine, there isnt a hole in the bulkhead it needs to be drilled and the bonnet closes of that scuttle bay, so that answers the "how does it not get wet question" i think that i should work well because that is the best place to get away from the engine heat!!! but i was wondering about the size of the filter (looks quite small) and how restrictive the pipe work is ??????????

im just thinking that where the filter is positioned it wont get much airflow to it surely its better located near the front of the car behind a grill/vent in the bumper but hey what do i know

Blimey they are big pics, funny, they dont look that big on the viewer on my camera! To fit the kit we do have to put a hole through the bulk head this is then sleeved with a piece of split tube to act like a grommet. The washer bottle is replaced with a washer bag which can just be seen near the filter. (This is a bit of a weak ling as the bag only holds 1ltr. I have on my car fitted a water bottle and extended pipe and wiring to where the original intake pipe fits, behind the dirt plate in front of the n/s wheel) I may sell the water bottle relocation kit seperately if anyone wants to fit the kit and supply their own. I can also supply a bigger bottle (not bag) that will fit at the front of the car. The fuse box is tucked further inside the bulhead compartment and if you have to replace a fuse the top panel need to be removed to do so. I figure not many people have had to change any of these fuse and if so not often. Same with alarm tucked further in.

with the bonnet closed down, there isnt much space to allow air into the bulkhead. surely thats going to be worse, than having a big collector airbox, supplied with plenty of fresh air from the front. cant see the MOT guy would like the bulkhead being cut through, lol!

The pics of the kit are on my car. (not very clean i know but havent had chance to get the engine bay valated yet). Not sure if it makes a difference to actual performance figures as i havent had chance to get it back on the rollers yet, but on the road it feels MUCH perkier and revs more freely. The throttle response is very good and in the hot weather it does not loose any performance. It definately feels more powerful than it did with the old kit on. As for the air gettin in, when the bonnet is closed it can stil get air in as the seal on the bonnet comes level with the bulk head thus leaving some gap and room for the air to get in. The main advantage is that u get NO hot air in there at all. All in all i am very happy with the results and will be at the Midlands Cliosport rr day if anyone wants a closer look.

Looks quite funky, definatly different. With some good airflow into it I could see the definate advantage, but there is only one thing that makes me think "oh bloody hell!" and maybe this line from Bo Selecta will help you guess what it is.

"I know Kes, I have left my piss bag at home!"

WOW!!!

Great idea! The best ideas are often the hardest to figure? Nice straigt piping, and a ok size filter and only cold air!! Maybe an air scoop would make it perfect. Only problem for me, is that it will only fit right hand drive cars. So have to do with my BMC! ;)

I have fitted a bonett scoop to my own car to improve airflow to the filter If anyone can post the pic for me I will e-mail them.

is there space for that to move?

it would shift under thottle, great idea tho that space is begging for a use.

as for the washer bottle, does it matter if the water gets warm? could you not fit it to the slam panel where the airbox was?

Ps: wouldnt turning most of that space into an air box and a custom panel filter be just as good?

Will e-mail pics for you to post.

We have had no problems with engine movement affecting the kit at all both on my 1.6 and the Williams.

As for the Water bottle how about taking it out of the ice box just before a run down the strip.

There we go, looks quite good. Definatly thinking about this.

From Nick:

The pics are from my Clio which we have
fitted with a 1.6 8v Megane engine. I must stress that I dont do body work
for a living and have no intention of fitting this vent to a customers car
but only to show what can be done. I am sure that if a proper body shop did
the job it would look neat. The vent I used is off a phase 1 19 16v.

Nick, I am glad I got broadband, your emails are HUGE!

Anyway no probs with posting.

Keep up the good work.

Paul

Yeah I made the pics smaller for on here.

How much would this mod be btw? Do you drill the holes in the body work for the kit? If so, excluding the vent, how much would this cost?

Paul

what about when you wash your car,or when it rains, water comes straight off the windscreen and runs down to there??? water in your engine aint good:cry:
