Pirelli P ZERO NERO 205/45 ZR16 83W form mytyres (beware!!)

  a green 1
bought 2 of these back in november had them fitted to the front on the 28/11/08 aswell as my tracking checked (was fine),

anyway woke up this morning to find the front left tyre as flat as a pancake grrrr, not having a spare had to jack it up whip the alloy off and take it to my local tyre garage, he checked the tyre and found no punctures but what he did find is that the inner side wall wa thin as f**k, when he pumped it up you could see just how thin it was, the wear on the tread on each side was v similar so doubtfull it was the tracking that has caused this, checked the other front tyre and this was fine......

manufacturing fault? not happy to say the least, going to give mytres a call see what they have to say, i bought the tyre home incase the want me to send it back to be checked

(on the other hand got a part worn goodyear eagle f1 with fair bit of tread for £25 fitted)

You mean "on the other hand" or upside :p

Does sound strange, but sometimes sidewalls are very thin, so thin that you can puish your finger into it easily; just depends on the tyre design but I would have expected those P Zero Neros to be fairly stiff in the sidewall department.

I had 2 almost new 195 Nero's stabbed by some cnut over the weekend. Now got other Nero's on the front and Falkens on the rear. :(

did you drive it with the tyre flat? that would cause the walls to wear out if you did. air could have leaked from the valve or even the tyre bead if the tyre was not sealed against the rim properly

The same happened to 2 of my p-zero neros on my old 106 (40 profile). tbh i think it was my own fault for not checking them regularly enough.

Michelins have the thinest sidewalls Ive seen on a tyre and no-one complains!
Are you sure the wheel wasnt leaking on the rim? Turinis are bad for rust.(Assuming you have them.) Did he actually spray any leakfinder on the sidewall? If he didnt then you cant prove jack-s**t :(
