plastic engine cover

does anyone know if the plastic engine covers for the mrk 2 ph 2 will fit on a mrk 2 phse 1. i have a 1.4 16v and it doesnt really have a plastic engine cover over the leads and would look much neater with one on.just woundering if it can be done. cheers fellas!

the car is w reg 2000. there is kind of a plastic cover on there now but it has leads and stuffnot like a phase 2.you have a 172 right? so you have the plastic cover on already isit?

if its the same block (i assume it will be), then it'll probably fit - not guarenteeing it though.

I'm pretty sure they both use the K4J 1.4 16v engine so it should fit but it may not.

dont think so.

assuming the 1.4 16v is similar to mitches 1.4 8v engine.

firstly the coil pack sits on top of the engine, where as mine doesnt have a pack just 4 pencil ones.

looking at yours and Harry_Manback's engines, i'd say yes you could get one and it should fit fine.

I got one for £35 from cliospares for my 1.6 16v as its the same cover other than it saying 1.4 16v.

guarentee'd it will be. If i had dialogys installed on this machine i'd check. Seriously dont think it'll be worth buying it from renault though.

make sure u get the clips as well as you dont have them on ur engine at the mo

i assume the cover will fit under your throttle cable.....

uh, what the clips you are talking about are seperate to the actual plastic cover isit. i will have to ask clio spares if they can sort me out dont wanna bother with dealers as they are probably gonna be more than there worth i rekon.
