PLEASE HELP! I've lost loads of music on my pc :(

  Leon Cupra R 225
Yesterday, windows media player 10 crashed on me whilst I was doing a windows update, I had roughly 8.5GB in there and after it stopped crashing, it said it had not been closed properly and had been corrupted. :dapprove:

Worst thing being that once I re-opened the player I noticed my library loaded to 2.5GB worth of music files... :S I thought they'll just be in their containing folders so went to them in my documents > then downloads and F**K! The album folders are still there but in each folder there is now only 3-4 songs on each album. I checked recycle bin but they weren't in there.

I also did a system restore to it's checkpoint on friday but NO LUCK. :(

If someone has any idea how I can get my music back I would be over the moon.

Thanks for reading, I hope someone can help.

hmmmmm.

i have had this happen to me but in nero, all my albums ended up in ther recycle folder there, but never got them back.

best think i can advise is to use a un-erase wizard program to try and bring them back that way.

hmmmm....odd. A system restore will only put back the registry not the files.

I would suggest using a program called GETDATABACK for NTFS and scan the folder were your music was. Will hopefully work
