Pls help MOT due tomorrow bonnet won't open!!!

Hi all, my MOT expires tomorrow tried to top up my screen wash and replace a headlight bulb and the bonnet won't open. The cable hasn't snapped but still has no feeling when pulled. The bonnet catch has always been abit sticky even when lubricated. I have tried pulling the catch whilst pushing the bonnet aint having none of it. PLS PLS help

It was a problem with the catches, guess yours wasn't replaced!

Bit last minute imo, there's no quick solution i know of!

Best thing to try is pushing the bonnet and releasing constantly.

Then, if that fails, try having someone pull the bonnet up as you pull the catch.

I know lastminute.com work away for 3 months at a time only got back yesterday first opertunatie I got and it won't work typical french fancy!

mine does this, just get someone else to pull the bonnet up as you pull the handle, this should work !

Can you get a bar or rod up from under the car to trigger the release manually. Not sure how much access there is to do it, might worth a go.

You can get to the catch with a long screwdriver from beneath, I know because my ex Mrs had exactly the same problem. I just phoned the AA and let him struggle.

He left a decent hammer as well, happy days!

get someone to push down the bonnet when you pull the level and then try to open it.

Swearing also helps!

It happened to me when I refitted my bonnet as I had moved it out of alignment. Someone needs to pull the lever and then just keep pulling and pushing and spraying WD40 around (and swearing) until it opens - then sort out why.

Take it renault and get them to fit a new bonnet catch for free, they will also have to open the bonnet for you!

Bonnet has finally opened swearing and wd40 helps muchos thanks all taking it to Renault Monday to get a new one fitted
