Possible owner

Hello all

Potential owner here. Viewing a 2007 car on saturday morning. It's described as a 197 cup. It's in liquid yellow. Is there a difference between a 'standard' 197

cup and a F1? I'm sure the F1 has a plate near the gearstick? So i'll look for that on saturday but looking at the pics I have i'm not sure it's a standard?

It has very sculptured Recaro's, red Brembo calipers and the front splitter/skirts/spoiler caps/diffuser are (described as) carbon fibre.

Anyway, fingers xed it is what i'm after and i can get it for a good price (? 2007/50k/fsh). Anything in particular I should look for?

The seller said the only 2 cosmetic things he wanted to be up front about before I view are a small 'rust' (unlikely?) patch at the bottom of the rear screen

and that the steering wheel centre is 'rough' and that this is 'a common problem and someone mentioned an advert in a magazine where they can sort it'?

Does any of that ring any bells? Thanks in advance.

I put the reg no into the HPI check site and it comes up as CLIO RENAULTSPORT 197 F1. This is a good thing, right?

Also, as it's 5 years/50k old, the belts etc will need doing if they've not been done? Apparently it was recently serviced by Renault so i'll look and see

what was done.

Any tips?

Thanks for the offer but i've agreed on this one. It is an F1. Number 247/500. Liquid Yellow with carbon front splitter and skirts. Drove nicely. No probs with 4th. Idle was fine etc. FSH. just past 50K and nearly 5 years old (Aug) so will need cambelt service. Anywhere recommended in the north mids/South yorks area? If not i'll probs book it in with K-Tec for when i'm down that way.

Bolsters have been retrimmed in leather (or was it an option?). Aftermarket Sony bluetooth stereo. Pretty tidy. Needs a valet or I may even get it detailed. The front splitter looks like it could do with coming off and refitting and one of the end caps looks a bit tired. Can they be 'revived'?

Steering wheel is an absolute must - who is the Ballymena guy on here who does them?

All in all very happy for £6K!!!!!!!
