Power gains on my Valver

  Looking for a ph-quick...
Evening all!

was just wondering what sort of gains i will be gettin from the following

Done so Far.....
Chipped ECU
K&N Induction kit - this i think is slowing me down....
full stainless decated exhaust

To do...
In the process of getting a cyclinder head ported and polished by that good chap Dan potter and fitting some high lift cams when i get it bak also supplied by dan potter.

Does any body know what sort of BHP i should be running after all of this work??
also im guessing i will need a remap to get the best from it??

cheers
Amir

Amir,

A custom remap would be much more beneficial than an off the shelf and will be properly setup for your needs. BenR at AngelWorks or Andy at GDI could do this for you.

The open IK is most likely slowing you down, have a browser through the forum and see what different airboxes people are running on valvers.

As to what sort of gains you've achieved so far, I'd say... 6-8bhp? at a guess!

tar mate!!

only 6-8bhp??? i was told u get 10-15 with the ecu alone??? ok ok so when all the work is done, headwork and cams and a remap what i will be looking at bhp wise??

well its out a renault 19 16v super by a company called castle performance based in dudley which, i got in touch with and they said it would add 10-15bhp.

before i bought it i rang hill power and there chip gives the same gains as this also k-tecs aswel is the same aswel.
so instead of paying £200+ for one of those i bought this one.

in reality your not going to get 10-15bhp from a chip

maybe from a proper remap, but not from an off the shelf job

I think off-the-shelf chips, in the same league as superchips etc should be taken very lightly with a pinch of salt. I've always been in favour of custom ECU's mapped to the car. Its the only accurate way of knowing you are getting every you should.

ok thanks for you input!!!
so...
what sort of power am i looking at when all my work is done (head work, cams and remap)

Amir

  172 cup'd extreme
always thought the best and cheapest way to get more power out of these is to put the 2litre bottom end on ?

With ECU/Exhaust/IK - 6-10bhp gain at best as said.

With headwork/cams - probably kncoking on the door of 160/165bhp
