lol - i call them diode's, most people refer to them as resistors. Its a little electrical device which you solder into the wire which leads to the seatbelt pre-tensioner / inertia reel. It prevents the airbag warning light from coming on ( if this light appears on your dash your complete airbag system is immobilised ) with this gadget your dash and steering wheel airbag will still work and also your front seat belt pretensioners

  BMW M135i
Drivers airbag between 1.8 to 6.2 Ohms. This runs through the lines 1 and 2 of the airbag/pretensioners computers.

Passenger airbag between 1.8 to 4 Ohms. This runs through the lines 3 and 4 of the airbag computer.

Side airbags between 1.8 to 4 Ohms. Passengers line runs through the lines 34 and 9 of the airbag computer. Drivers line runs through the lines 8 and 33 of the airbag computer.

Pretensioner between 1.8 to 4 Ohms. Passengers line is marked D and is track 11 and 36 on the 30 track connector. Drivers line is marked C and is track 10 and 35 on the 30 track connector.

So long as the resistance is between these values above (I'd a resister value in the middle of each of these values) then no warning light will come on.

Just go in and ask for a suitable value resistor, like edde says in ^ something in the middle should do.

edit: Ah, beaten by the man himself.

so i just cut the wire and solder each a wire to each end then done yea?

Theres two wiures to the unit (least I think there are if not then wire the other side to the earthing point on the car.

Cut the wires and solder one side of the resister to one wire the other side of the resister to the other wire.
