problem activating i-phone 4

bought an i phone 4 yesterday (sat) at 4pm, got told it would take up to 24hours to register, 4pm arrives today (sun) and no joy. i rung orange and they told me my phone wasn't even on record! bought it from carphone warehouse, orange told me id have to go to carphone wh to get it sorted, which wont be until after work tomorrow! not very happy to say the least! anyone else had this problem?
