Problem with iOS5 on my iPhone! SMS LIMIT! (Massive over-reaction. 100k limit)

This sounds like an issue that only someone who queued up for hours and hours to be the first person in the queue for a new halo game and videoed it and then posted it on the Internet could have.
100,000 is a stupidly high amount of texts, how would you even find the text you were looking for in that lot!
Oh and I'm not sure how you lose all your apps when you have a backup to go back to. Before you update the phone you have a backup file in the backups folder, then when you do the update, it takes a second backup and places it in an iTunes mobile backups folder which it then uses to reste the phone from after the update. And they've changed the way it updates by restoring the apps individually after the update so you have to keep it connected while this happens even though on the screen of the phone it looks like the update and sync have finished. I reckon all these people who are losing apps are not doing it right and letting it finish properly.
And even if you do 'lose' them, all you have to do is restore from the regular backup it made before it did the update. And if you haven't got one of those you are a fucktard and deserve to have hassles.

Anyone else, I do not believe I have 100,000 texts on my phone, some people have deleted every text and are still getting the error. All I asked was if anyone knew of any software to back up some text messages. That is all.
I also do know how to backup an iPhone etc, but for some reason it didnt work out this time. 90% of people hate iTunes for this very reason, you tend to lose things when updating iOS etc. Its known! I upgraded my iPad 2 to iOS5 with no issues and no loss of apps or data, but the iPhone upgrade didnt go as well.

I quite agree with Danny133. I lost like 15k texts 2 weeks ago and it pissed me off! Can't imagine 100k being an issue though. He did say that he hasnt used all 100k but was still getting the issue.

Now I would have thought for the smartphone with the largest market share in the world that this disaster of biblical proportions would have flooded for the first five pages...

Apples customer base used to be a group of enthusiasts that had the minerals to sit and learn how a device or a piece of software works usually all by themselves using trial and error. Sadly that's no longer the case. Even my own family have struggled to get through this transition period.
