Progress so far (pics)

Thought I'd share with you all how much I've done on getting the car back to standard.

Started taking off the old side skirts and front splitter, which were an absolute b*****d, the stuff they were glued on with was stronger than the plastic, so I broke 3 knives, blunted 2 and snapped the skirts in several places to get them off

eventually they came off

and on wednesday morning i got up at half 4 in the morning, and travelled down to swansea to pick up my new sideskirts and rear bumper. 100 pounds for all three, absolute bargain, and all thanks to simon 172:approve:

I tried the side skirts on when i got back, and they fit like a glove, now all thats left is to get the car and bits sprayed up in that lovely inferno, and a new exhaust, then it can all go back together

Anyone want to sell me some turinis and an exhaust?

nope, going to let the body shop deal with it when it gets taken for a spraying

i always liked that they way it was tbh.. seen one with the kit on in blue and its a real head turner.. guess your jumping on the cs bandwagon with all the usuals...

cant get insured on a modified car, so its going back to standard

it does turn heads, but for insurance purposes it needs to be off, and tbh I didn't like the boy racer image that it made

think i will be keeping the wheels, but buying the same ones in 16"s so they don't rub, it would mean if i had an accident it could invalidate my insurance though:dapprove:

ah, there are indeed lots of companies out there, but every one I've tried runs a mile when I say that I'm a 19 year old, on a modified cat C write off. Don't ask me why but some companies don't like written off cars.

yeah no point doing anything else other than sand it, they have to sand the paint anyway, to get a primer coat on it, so it wont be any extra trouble to sand the hard glue off, matter of minutes !

better standard imo.
