just read this from start to finish, lovely car mate.
im in the market for one and will probably go down the itb route. are there any prices anywhere for this?
is there anyone using the jenvey/omex option?

Decided to man up today.

Got a few days off work, so im completely stripping the interior and spraying it to make it as neat as possible.

Weighed the standard seats while i was at it, 24.7kg each!!!!!!!!!!!!

So they are getting replaced asap with something lighter. Most of the tar s**t is gone from the front aswell, must be another 1kg worth at least.

Pics to follow tommorow :)

I'd be suprised by that, but I fitted ph1 172 seats to mine the other day and jesus were they heavy, was that drivers or passenger weight? the drivers seemed to weigh more? Or was that all in my head? On the bright side you'll make a good saving with buckets fitted!!!

Drivers side may weigh more due to them having the mech to change the height of the seat too?

Aren't a good bucket less than 10kg?? If so thats a pretty big saving and you'll be flying with them out!

The ones im looking at are 8kg, with side mounts and harnesses i think it comes in to around 11kg each.

So should be good.

If i dont like it, i can always put it all abck in again, kept everything nice and neat and safe in the garage.

Always the best way, I've got a loft full of 1.2 mk2 ph1 parts so I can change the car back whenever necessary. (mum loves it) :S

Nice update, this is going to be awesome

I removed 4Kg of tar from the rear and from under the front seats (haven't done the footwells yet).

I'm going to be looking for lighter seats next year, i think the Recaro's are about 18Kg each.

Yeah i took my carpet out a few weeks back. I was so shocked how heavy it was.

My Sparco Rev's weigh 8kg and imo are fantastic buckets. They are so comfortable and so supportave. 10 out of 10 :)

Back together now. Took it for a spin with no passenger seat, just to see what removing 25kg did. Definately makes a difference, so will be getting bucket seats asap.

Have some grip tape for the floor on the way, as it gets dirty very quickly as you can see, and its abit slippy.

though you wernt going to do the front carpet, oh well, that gear knob gaiter looks a bit on the heavy side ben, get it out!

Ben...Ive just read it all! all i can say is I LOVE IT!!

Im picking myself up a 172 cup this week.. I would to go down the throttlebodie route.. i cant believe the power youve got from just the bodies and an exhaust! i thought you needed some sort of cams in there aswell be honest! Thats some good power mate!

Looks decent mate, be great with buckets and a decent wheel :) Was tempted to do this myself but the extra road noise would be to much for my daily driver :(

just read the whole lot of this. come on leaps and bounds. just wis i had the spair cash to do somthing like this to mine although im not sure an engine with 110,000 miles on it wouldcope under the extra stresses lol.

But f*ck me ITB's are expensive for clios lol. I'm looking into the same At Power ones for my vts & they're £800 + a remap of the standard ecu lol

These arrived yesterday. Thought it was about time it had an oil change. Wasnt a cheap box either!

Did you spray your floor? How many coats? Or was it hand painted thinly?

That will be sprayed... I did mine with synthetic paint, you don't "really" need to use primer with that either, mine took 2 coats to completly cover.

When can you get the paint from and how much will I need to do the whole floor front to back? Could do with a weekend job :D

Sprayed it as gray said. Did primer, then 2 coats of matt black.

To do the whole inside, i think ive used around 8 cans of matt black, and about 3 primer.

I brought 2 x 1L tins of paint and used my friends spray gun and compressor set-up... 1.5L did 3 full coats, got a little left if I ever need a touch up ;)

Dad can get satin/matt black from work so that will cost me nothing :p
