I decided to take my first ride in the Formula A car... around the Nordschleife... :) Jeez, that was hard work! Here's the video (yeah, I lost it on the pit exit!) and it's not particularly clean or quick, but it felt great. Especially on the couple of corners where I did get it just about right.

(Best viewed in 1080p / 60fps if your browser supports it).

I've lost control coming out of the pits many times don't worry lol. I see it as an effective way to heat the tyres fast ;).

Looks fun though need to get on that, I was doing some GT3 online last night having great fun but before you know it 2 hours has passed and you have no time to try any thing else lol. I'm 40+ hours in 😊.

Yes, yes! That's exactly what I was doing. Just like I had planned it... LOL! I desperately want to put some serious time into this but I'm struggling for time at the moment. I also have the new Wolfenstein game to play, Destiny, Witcher 3 and Elite Dangerous. They might have to wait :)

  Shit little Yaris...
I ALMOST bought this yesterday until I saw the AMD ATI Card reviews!

Sod that.

Played this online quite alot yesterday and really enjoyed it.

First time I played on the Azure track, didn't realise till it loaded that it was actually the Monaco GP track. All assists off, 16 road cars in the lobby, bloody carnage unfortuantlly.

As with all racing games, there are plenty of online racers with the wrong mentality for the game. A acidental racing tap under braking from you as you pass them, next corner, they ram you into oblivion and your wheels fall off.

So far I've only had 1 real problem online - there was no qualy so the fastest people weren't at the front

It was a complete cluster f**k although I did do exactly what you just said - accidentally tapped someone because I didn't expect him to be so slow so he put me off the track

Admittedly I did catch him in about 4 corners and returned the favour

However Karma did come and get me because just as I was lining up the pass for P1 on the final lap my engine blew :(

The lotus f1 car is a monster! Talk about boost. You can turn boost right up in tuning so its over 1000bhp. The thing shift like a f**king rocket can barely control it. I was trying to get a good section of clean driving in last night to stick a video up but its too much with no traction control on. Try it lol.

I won the GT4 championship last night now onto the GT3 season 4. Love the game but hopefully the patch is out during the week. They are saying days away now on the forum.

I seem to have lost 4th gear on a few cars now, especially for races at Oulton Park it would seem... frustrating! :(

Its the gear ratios mate happened to me a few times. Basically 2/3rd both end up with the same ratio so you just have to slide gear 3 back across. I guess for you its the same just with 4th.

Does seem to be most common at oulton.

Blue flags clearly do not apply to AI drivers... Starting a hot lap for Qualy and cars come out of the pits, don't give way or any room... Trying to lap back markers and they will just react like they're racing you.

So much stuff needs sorting for the game it's a little bit rediculous

I wish it would tell you online when the car in front is being blue flagged so at least I know they have no excuse when I dive up the inside and they just dally over into the side of me

GT6 seemed to have crack this as well as they stay clear of you and move over, which I always thought was a cool touch.

This game looks fantastic. Is it anygood using a pad though?
I'm playing the PC version but using an Xbox One controller... and I love it mate. I spent hours finding a set of controller values that got around the games issues but now I'm up and running it's great. There are now plenty of settings guides to take the hassle out of setting up the game pad.

This looks really good. I haven't bought a next gen console yet. Wondering if my PC would take it if I upgraded the graphics card - at the moment I have an AMD A8 6500 (3.5GHz quad) and 8GB RAM I think. Been out of the loop on PC hardware for a while!

Sadly I don't think your CPU will be particularly strong with this game mate and you would definitely need to invest a chunk of money on a decent nVidia graphics card to get the best visuals and performance (AMD owners are suffering a bit with performance woes).

Another day, another random video... this time in the RS1600 in Historic TC at Oulton. My first few attempts ended in complete failure; seems quite easy to roll this particular car when you get a slight bump from the computer AI-driven opponents...

Proper lol at the rolls. Didn't expect the first one! Took me by surprise. [emoji41]
Nicely edited videos too.

I was playing this again last night and I'm a little miffed at things on it.

First of all, Ginetta G40 Donnington Park Sprint race... Fog and rain, regardless of whether the car had Wets on or Slicks it was like driving on ice. I qualified on pole finished 8th while trying to dance for 4 laps pretty f**king annoying really. Also I've noticed some cars just seem to have wets on as default, like the Aston Martin GT4 car (my new contract).

Another thing, Wet weather. They've gone to all this effort of making the rain look amazing then no decent effects for the track condition i.e. Wet track with a dry line.

AI's behaviour is bizzar, moves out of your way so much so they end up on the grass but then other times just totally punt you off the track. I've had the above happen in the Mk1 Escort also, you only have to touch the other cars and its ready to rock and roll over.

I do still love the game but the above are not excusable.

I love that one - though I dread to think how you'd get some ample speed in it with a pad. The pedals just allow you to feed the power in progressively - and the turbo laaaaag is strangely addictive.

The Sierra has been The Beast for me so far - I really need to treat that with kid gloves.

The escort physics are a known issue that will be fixed.

Wait till you get into GT3 class in the wet. I've resorted to assigning traction control to the d pad so when its wet I flick it on now. Its another known issue the AI aren't affected by the wet.

I used the aston gt4 also if you struggle in the wet at the start of the race I dial in about +10 toe in lol.

There's some pretty awful issues hiding a decent game. Haven't touched it since doing the Tt.

MASSIVE difference now its been patched, Im using my pad at the moment as I'm away from home. Its so much playable now, Still need to tweak the settings slightly to suit you personally but its 100x better than it was originally.

If anyone is interested ill stick my settings up for XBO pads

Adamm.

Yeah much better now my settings are..

Steering deadzone 10
Steering sensitivity 25
Throttle deadzone 0
Throttle sensitivity 0
Brake deadzone 0
Brake sensitivity 100

Speed sensitivity 50
Controller filtering 0
Force feedback 100

Seems to work for me in the GT3 class, driving much better. Still if you push too hard it ends badly but you can drive on the limit much easier now and long sweeping corners are much better. My settings are quite sensitive but I hate when the car feels dull and unresponsive so I'd rather it was harder to control than like that.

On the Pad i use:

Steering deadzone 15
Steering sensitivity 0
Throttle deadzone 0
Throttle sensitivity 0
Brake deadzone 5
Brake sensitivity 20

Speed sensitivity 60
Controller filtering 60
Force feedback 85

So apparently they don't like you missing the Melborne loop at Donington in a race.

I wish I had the time to put into this that it deserves. Just did my first Calender race at Donny in the Clio's, absolutely brilliant. Had to concentrate so much more than I've had to in a racing game before, but it's so rewarding when you get it right. Managed to win both races on 100% difficulty and all aids off, but its snett next and I'm not half as comfortable there.

Brilliant game, I just wish I wasn't always so busy.

Off to look at wheels...
