Project lowie chloe - mk2

  Fiesta ST-3
Been on here a while now, thought i would stick together a bit of a project to show where my car has come from to where it is now.

So... it began when i was 17 - For my birthday i got the original Chloe - 1.2 16v extreme

But with an incident with an oil spill and a traffic light... it was the end :(

Insurance then paid out as a number of cars hit the same oil... absolute joke so then Chloe was re-born with a bigger heart - 1.4 16v dynamique and a nicer colour. (hologram grey i believe)

First thing was a sports grille as i cant stand the normal one

Then went through a stage of smoked rears... looking back i have no idea what i was thinking tbh!

The car stayed like this for a while as i endured my first year of uni. When this came to the end i had a play around with bullets/diamond colours and landed on orange for a bit.

Then one of my idiotic friends happened to fall on my bonnet ( c**k!! ) and put a few dents in it. To cover this up i purchased a bonnet bra

IMG00035-20090801-1215.jpg

and sprayed the badges black

Then along came a summer job and a few mods could happen.

then i grew tired of having balloon suspension so i purchased a full pi decking kit for £270 and while fitting this i painted calipers red and drums black.

And then a K&N induction kit for a little more of a grunt from the engine

IMG00003-20090820-1143.jpg

Along came standard rears and then it stayed like this for a while

IMG00001-20090820-1141.jpg

Whoring :p

Back to uni i went for second year, and once returning home for the summer once again the mods could begin.

I couldn't help but think she wasn't low enough so after a lot of research i went for the slightly more expensive FK Highsport coilovers.

my mate got straight on fitting them

IMG00037-20100508-1106.jpg

Resulting in pretty awesome lows straight off the jack with 20mm thread left on front - rear adjusters removed

Then the time came for my first cs.net meet - Ribblehead viaduct/buttertubs drive so i raised the car a tad (thank god as the roads were a nightmare)

I then decided it was time for a change... Always loved turbines and found these on ebay - pm'd the guy and the next day i was driving to kippax to pick up a set of turbines for £100!!

Dodgey spray job and no centres but MINT! No damage and no filler once paint was stripped

Then considered polishing

IMG00144-20100623-1252.jpg

but had no way of getting into the blades... so got them powdercoated after a big dilemma i ended up going for silver and im glad a did.

De-wipered while waiting for them

Then got tyres (165/50) and got them straight on before the weekend in the lakes with kustomclios

IMG00193-20100729-1204.jpg

aye, had to wait for smaller tyres tho... had to be positive while i had balloon tyres on the standards otherwise the tires scrubbed on the coilover strut

you're to do list should look like this....

1. Spacers front n back
2. Negative camber on the back
3. Nuetral camber on the front
4. Put bra on for motorway ONLY (they do ruin you bonnet you know)

once this is done its perfect

Pretty much nailed it tbh...

This is what i have written on my whiteboard:

1. Camber sorted
2. Spacers (not sure how big... what would you recommend?)
3. Sort out bonnet so i don't have to run bra
4. Silvervisions

Spacers 25mm minimum on the back so id say about 20 on the front n 25 on the back mines that now.
Bra's not a problem bud it just seems like you run the car with it on all the time which isnt good. all the dust n dirt goes down the back of it and gets trapped thats why they say on the site to take it off after your journey. (which reminds me to take mine off....)
silvervisions was a good call i didnt really notice.

So is that 25mm on each side yeah? Wont that make an issue with scrubbing as my arches aren't rolled

Yeah i take it off to clean it pretty much weekly anyway... but it cant make my bonnet any worse than it is really, 3 or 4 dents and a few bubbles of rust which were there when the car was bought. When i get money guna get it sorted then i can take the bra off apart from motorway journeys as you said.

Then also a bit further down the line a 172 rear is on the agenda!

nah no 172 rear be different.

yea 25mm each side, well if you do the negative camber on the rear it should be fine bud. Tell a lie it depends on your tyres tbh, i had 195/45's and they had 1mm clearance with 25mm and about 4' of camber and rubbed like fook but if you have skinny tyres its fine, i currently have 165/50/15's no problems. if you need tyres mytyres.co.uk is where its at i paid 39.50 a corner for 165/50 bridgestone potenza's

I don't think i've ever read a crash on CS not being due to an oil spill! lol.

Looks ok.
