I did a trackday/test day on 24th Feb 2012 and all went well, driver and car both managed a 40min session without either over heating, brakes and tyres did fade towards the end but did do 40mins non stop whereas in the race I would have a pitstop so this would let both cool very slightly for a bit.

All the pics are here so enjoy:)

The Ford Anglia is the guys in the garage next door and is running a Vauxhall red top engine with around 300bhp, they are running in the CSCC Special Saloons series

29th March was the officiall CSCC test day at Snetterton, and once again the car and driver did ok. Fastest lap was 2mins 22secs which I thought was pretty ok as car is still only running with a totally standard engine!

Better brakes are really needed and maybe a slighly bigger oil cooler but apart from that we are ready to go, scrutineering went ok with only a few minor things to tweak.

here are a few more pics for you;

The 2nd a great race and really enjoyed Brands Hatch, learnt alot aswell like the fact you can pit under the safety car, which I wasnt really sure about. Had a big off coming down paddock hill bend, after after the black flag went out as I passed the line, and not sure if it was for me but it put me off so I totally missed my braking! I later found the flag wasnt for me and now have lots of genuine Brands infield grass that I dug from under the car and in the subframe!

Qulified 16th out of 29 and finished 13th in the race!

The Silverstone race was the closest I got to getting in the top ten!

Qualified 14th out of 26 cars and finished the race 11th out of 22! Had a great race with the Puma of Toby and Lisa, I could not catch Lisa early on in the race no mater how hard I tried, but caught Toby after his spin on the oil. Chased him hard for around 4 laps and he had the legs on me down the straights but I was pushing him hard in the bends! Toby was hugging the inside line all the way, I tried round the outside a few times but that never works! Tried to force an inside gap on the last lap, but got one wheel on the grass which pulled me in! Luckly Toby saw me and gave me room so no contact was made. Many thanks for for that and so glad both cars came back unmarked, was only 2 seconds behind but most of the time I was on his bumper!

Cracking stuff mate.I like the colour scheme and both cars you've shown.

thanks:)

for those that are not as old as me to remeber, the yellow/green 306 is almost an exact copy of the 306s that raced in the 1999/2000 National Saloon Car Championship and is the exact colour, Linford Green named after the Peugeot Sport UK boss at the time, Mick Linford!

the National Saloon car championship became the BTCC production class in 2001 and the is where the red BTCC 306 raced, it has been stickered back up as it was when it was raced by the Norwigen Roger Moen, it would have won the championship but Roger crashed it on the last 2 races so the sister car won driven by Simon Harrison.

When I click on your website, to view your stock it asks for my registration number and postcode before it will show me anything.

Then it says you have no stock.

That annoyed me.

But anyway, keep up the write ups, thoroughly enjoyed that! :)

Some fantastic cars in that lot.

Rules go.

As long as it sort of looks like the original car, anything goes.

I will be at French car Show Donnington with the car testing ready for the CSCC round later in the year if anyone is coming along.

Very jealous - I want to turn the 182 into a track weapon (and I will - haven't told the missus yet)

Had my best result of the year so far at Mallory and finished 7th overall! Remember that this is still using a almost standard 306 Rallye with 178bhp and all the cars in front had 200+bhp (2 ex btcc 306 amongst them!) as do many of the cars behind!

Had a race long battle with a 210bhp throttle bodied 206 RC (GTi-180) and had a minor coming together at the hairpin giving me another dented wing! I was then just in front of the 206 with him having the legs on me down the straights but I was hugging the inside line and was faster in the corners (with standard 306 rear shocks still!). Sadly our battle was ended after a back maker Fiesta failed to see the 206 after we past him, taking the 206 out big time. this gave me a breather to stroll home in 7th!

all the results are here

best of all is that now I have completed 6 races this year I can now remove my racing "L" plate and take off my novice cross from the rear of the car!

next round is 15th September at Donnington

and nice to meet you Tony, well done on a good result. Could have been even better, just need to watch out for them yellow flags!

Think I remember the build thread of the btcc car from the 306 forum. Am I right in thinking this was the ecosse car? Are you the also the Carl who has the silly low miles rallye?

  Clio V6 255,Clio R27

yeah thats the one! was hoping to bring it out racing at Donnington but did some testing in it at Snetterton and found its got a very smokey engine so sadly will be next year now that it comes out to play.

yes I do have a 306 Rallye tucked up in my garage with only 250miles on the clock :)

  DON'T SEND ME PM'S!!
saw the mess the 206 and fiesta were in. Same fiesta that T-boned Sam in the cup a few weeks back I think. Hell of a days racing, good result, well done :)

yeah thought it was and I had a lucky escape that time too! They seem to not be aware of cars that are lapping them!

thanks I was really please:)

though as said above I wanted to move to the btcc one to see how far I could really get, but sadly funds and time wont allow it this year.

Nice to see your getting it out on track. Still getting pestered for the paint code?

  Clio V6 255,Clio R27

Wont be till next year so you have time!

  Clio V6 255,Clio R27
Carl, sorry if I got a little close when passing, didn't have much choice I'm afraid.

No worries, to be honest I didnt notice you any closer than anyone else! I did try to give you all room as could see you were all going for it! but at the same time had a 206 up my @rse wanting to come past!

  Clio V6 255,Clio R27

List of results
Snetterton;
Qualified 13th out of 23 cars
Finished 11th out of 19 cars
please for my first race ever

Brands Hatch;
Qualified 16th out of 29 cars
Finished 13th out of 23 cars
Never been on track here before so pleased with results, could have been better but got held in pits after pitting under safety car, should have gone in earlier!

Silverstone;
Qualified 14th out of 26 cars
Finished 11th out of 22 cars
Please to have had a good battle with the car in front and only just missed out on getting in the top ten.

Castle Combe;
Qualified 15th out of 29 cars
Finished 11th out of 28 cars
Only ever done a 20mins track sestion here before many years ago so pleased with result.

Castle Combe (sports v saloons)
Qualified 13th out of 35 cars
Finished 11th out of 25 cars
again just out the top ten but still a great result

Mallory Park;
Qualified 12th out of 26 cars
Finished 7th out of 21 cars
at last finished inside the top ten, and had a great battle with a 206 RC (GTi 180) which we beat in the end!

Donington
Qualified 15th out of 39 cars
Finished 17th out of 28 cars
very disappointed with this result as again got held up in the pits after pitting under the safety car, so lost a lap! could have been so much better, learnt not to pit under the safety car ever again!

Oulton Park
Qualified 25th out of 31 cars
Finished 14th out of 24 cars
Qualifying was damp/wet, never been to this track before and went out on the wrong tyres! Happy to have got back to 14th after a Great race with Mike Nash in his 106 Rallye with him getting the better of me in the end but it is his home circuit :)
