Question about headlights 182 Cup

http://erc.qmuc.ac.uk/cliosport/gallery/full/1093552365__ClioSport182.jpgHi, Just picked up my new Artic Blue 182 Cup today, what a fantastic little car, best value for money anywhere. Here is a picture I took when I got home.

I have a question re the lights, my Brother came round at about 7:30 to see the car, and took him out for a spin to see how it compares to his V6, when I started the engine the lights came on without me touching anything, the stalk was still showing the lights in the off position, is this normal, Im sure they didnt come on when I picked up the car this afternoon. It probably explains this in the hand book, the only thing I can think of is that theres a sensor on them. I thought it would be more fun to ask the question.

Is this normal?

They have auto headlamps.

You can disable it if you dont like them by switching the key to position 2 with the engine off and then turn the lights on and off twice. You hear a beep and they are disabled.

I dont have mine on auto as they get on peoples nerves driving into bridges and fly overs into Birmingham.

i love automatic lights, i go through a couple of tunnels on the way to work and they are just long enough to turn the lights on but sometimes they dont, so I just bet with myself as to whether they are going to come on each morning, i enjoy it anyway!

I could see a guy in front of me getting worked up by mine one morning so I turned them off!! I did the same on the 182 the day I picked it up.

Thanks for the replies, now I know how to disable them. Im going to go and do it right now and I think Ill go out for a quick drive while Im at it. The is going to sound odd but the car feels quicker than my Audi TT 225 which I had for 2 years. Off for a spin now, I uploaded my image again to fill the message box. I think its GREAT.

Cheers,

Martin,

you must have been well keen to get it you could have waited a week and got the new plate????? anyway good choice of colour same as mine lol hope ya dont live near me anyway. enjoy the car, it wont disapoint.

It was quite funny how I happened to buy one really, I was talking to my Brother on the phone last Thursday and he was going on about this Clio 182 which I had never heard of until then, well he was going on about it so much I dropped in to my local dealer to see what all the fuss was about. Well to cut a long story short, I saw it and bought it there and then. Its 2 months old with low milage so I thought to myself it was meant to be.

Just got back after my first propper drive on my own, all I can say is I had a big grin on my face when I got back. Enough said. I live in Wickford, Essex.

I think value for money you cant beat it, performance looks it has the lot.

I dont care if auto lights get on ppls nerves, its a great feature and its staying on. You can tell the cars that have them wait til dusk and they are always the last to come on, Mercs, Audis, Beemers (some) and of course Renaults... :)

id spend a while reading the manuals and thats mate, cos otherwise you dont know what you will miss out on, there are plenty other cool features too.
