Quick buyers checklist for a 182?

I know I've owned several Clios but they've all been nearly new, and I'm on my way to view a 2005 reg 182.

Other than the usual checking brakes, tyres, service history etc what should I check for especially? I know proof of a cam belt change is important!

You should've said, I would of come with you.

Not much to check, but exhaust and cambelt are biggies both being ~£500 jobs

Not much else goes wrong, you could do the fancy dash trick to check for warning/error codes. (hold the trip computer button in as you turn the ignition on)

Owner claimed he had receipts at his brothers house for the cam belt change and it had just been MOT'd. Looked like a straight car with a good set of discs and Pirellis with plenty of tread. Couple of scratches and knocks but drove very nicely.

Yeah, I'd just check dates / mileage on the cambelt and aux belt. I've just bought a 55 plate so was looking out for the same things. Luckily Steve from R-Sports had a BG 182 available at the time Looks like I'm just down the road from you too!

Same here! Had a 172 back in 2005 and loved it. Had a few different cars after selling it in 2007 (including a dog of a 172), but nothing else scratched the itch! I always wanted a FF 182 and finally got what I wanted. Plus it had Recaros as a factory fitted option ... which are just awesome.

bought mine a 182 cup in that bright blue colour and loving it. did 80miles in it and superb does have a issue but it will be sorted as it drives and pulls great

I would say if there is any doubt around the cambelt change and its easier to presume its not been done and budget that in.
