  145db Euro'd clio
apparently they have gone into administration. I have been send through my renewal of 1400 which is very very good. been searching for quotes online and the cheapest i could find is 2800 which is more than i was paying in my first year. and ive got a years experience and a years no claims now.

What should i do? ring them and ask whats going on?

The Irish courts had a pissy at Quinn iirc at the end of March as they weren't solvent. It'll go into run-off so existing policy holders should be fine.

having said that I just found this
Its for the UK and Northern Ireland Customers

All private and household policies due to renew between the 30th March and 9th April (inclusive) can be renewed. If your renewal date falls after 9th April we will not be in a position to renew the policy. Any customers who have received renewal notices with renewal dates after 9th April and before 29th April will receive a “renewal retract” letter in the coming days. Renewals after 29th April will receive a renewal decline letter in the coming days. For the avoidance of doubt the above instructions includes direct commercial vehicle policies with one vehicle.

I suppose i should, but my mother is paying some of my insurance as an 18th present but she doesnt want them going into liquidation 2 months down the raod and us loosing 1400 quid!!!

They won't renew. They'll go into a run-off arrangement for existing policy holders, which means that they will honour existing policies and the ones that they had been allowed to renew. The risks that they have accepted will therefore be "run-off" so to speak.

That's actually the first I have heard of it and im with Quinn as well...

I need to renew mine in September but I did a quick search online and got a quite for £1,100 with Admiral I think it was. Im 19 (almost), 1 years experience and no claims. I had no one else on the insurance when I did the quote, just myself.

Edit: That's on a 1.2 8v ph1 by the way.

yeah thats the same as mine. mk2 ph1 1.2 8v but the cheapest ive found online is 2200 without mods. and im only declaring lowering, so i really dont know what to do as im not paying such a stupid amount!!!

They can't write any new policies but this is a big missunderstanding and the company is actually fine.

The owner of quinn is in the top 5 rich list on britain. The were writing 5,000 policies a week at the start of the year.

It's the assets within the company that were the problem, the company is actually just become the most profitable company ever to come out of ireland and having paid over £1billion in tax to Ireland they won't be going under believe me.
