R26 Engine In A Clio

Car  Clio 1.2
I want to put an Megane R26 engine into a 182

What parts would I need from an R26?

Engine + ancillaries, Gear box, ECU, Loom, mount, not sure about the drive shafts...

Uprate the brakes and suspension first it will all be done properly I'd move a few bits to the boot to free up space and move a little bit of weight to the back...

Gearbox won't fit without cutting into the shell..and the gearbox from a 2.0 Clio won't fit the megane engine.

Iirc you fit the megane internals to the clio block and the megane head with turbo etc etc.. But as said big wallet

I have seen this done to a none clio sport and think he fitted a lot of meganne stuff into the existing clio block and worked from there...

Was running 280bhp and was fully stripped out so must have been stupidly fast!

I'd not be going to the hassle of trying to retrofit the R26 ecu and defeat its immobiliser etc, I would just fit aftermarket if you do it at all, but as the R26 engine isnt great anyway why not just turbo your original engine, like mine:

Right ok I'm just looking for different ways to get power as the R26 engine is a good start but if its as much hassle as you say then I might go for a turbo, Whats everyones thoughts on boring the cylinders? much point in point it or a waste of money?

Haha Jared you can hold the cable ties ;)

There is a company in Bolton who specialise in the transplantation of 197 engines and Megane turbo engines in to clio`s. They have just had a rolling road fitted too! Cant be too hard can it?

that's 225's into 197's which is a bolt together job and a bit of wiring, try chucking one in a clio 2 ;)

Audi lump makes more sense to transplant in than an r26 lump. Why go to the effort of a custom parts fabrication style swap (ie shafts etc) just to put a really nothing special engine and box in?

I put an oversized filter on there to make sure that when the bottom fed custom plenum was made that I could still get the normal size one off. It's now just stopping dust and crap entering the oil ways :)

Was beginning to think this was a budget build for a moment there. :-p

Will just go with what was in the thread about the 300bhp one, I need a decent project that will keep me going for a year or two, all will be revealed soon :)
