Rally car



  Clio 172
How’s things lads, new here from Ireland
I have a clio 172 rally car
Running slightly bigger injectors, uprated fuel rail, gripper diff, 5:1 cwp, avo adjustable coil-overs all around
I just want ideas of what else to do with it? It’s a quick reliable car but I’d like a small bit more power
Championship is over now and going to fully repaint and do some tidying up on it

Group N timing, or 197 cams or cat cams, RS2 inlet manifold gives more power, but obviously not cheap.

Why bigger injectors? Never usually needed on NA, especially close to stock power.

I bought the car as a track car and already had the “bigger injectors” and fuel pressure regulator tbh I’m not sure it even works I haven’t tried playing around with it! Can I use the standard ecu for the cams tho? Or will I have to go get it mapped?

Welcome to the forum. Nice to see another rally Clio.

You'll need to get it mapped with the Group N timing, but they seem to be the best things to do really.

Beyond that, it's aftermarket cams and/or throttle bodies, then serious stuff like head work, pistons, rods etc.

Best value is just getting every gram out of the car you can.

Cheers mate, I’m looking for best places to buy the gear on can any of yous suggest it? And what exactly is group n timing? Or do I get a group n ecu or what?

There are a few threads about the Group N timing, so it might be worth a search. @NorthloopCup had a batch of timing tools made some time ago.

The standard ecu can be mapped to make it work, but don't know if there's anyone in Ireland with experience of it.
