Random blocked off pipe in 172 cup engine bay, accostic valve ?

  2050cc Corsa
All new to the world of clios and french things, so bear with me

got a pipe than hangs down by the battery in the bay, has a small valve then another length of pipe on it, followed it back all the way to the inlet, where it comes off just before the tb

first of all, what is it ?, what does it do

any reason it can just be blanked off at the inlet

where should it run if connected

cheers

the hose infront of the t/b (as you face the car) is for the acoustic valve

have a look underneath the n/s headlamp - the acoustic valve should be bolted to the airhorn bracket (might not be able to see it from above)

it may have been removed - it's just a plastic tube with a butterfly valve in it (operated by inlet vacuum) - reduces induction roar

no reason you couldn't cut it off closer the t/b, but it obv. needs blanking off
