Rapid 'clicking' from steering?

Chaps,

I've definitely noticed it more now with it being colder - but the car makes a rapid clicking noise when pulling out of a junction. It does this when turning either left or right, but I'd arguably say it was a bit louder when pulling out to the right.

It stops when the wheels go straight. I did think CV boots, but I'm doubting this as it was only serviced a few weeks back and tbf, it was there before then.

Any thoughts?

Cheers,
D.

Driveshaft

I thought as much. They are the originals, so I've had a good run on them over 11 years, I guess.

Is it a specialist only job - or could any reputable garage do them? I know that Renault has a recycling program in place for them where you get money back once you hand over the old driveshafts - but they are still pretty expensive.

Cheers,
D.

Driveshafts are easy to do tbh.

Half hour's work per side for someone who knows what they're doing.

For future reference Briv6 does that mean new driveshaft or what?!
The driveshaft is what's causing the clicking the noise . People think repair cv boots but it's only short term fix if the cv boot has lost most of the grease . The problem will eventually return . In the early days Renault replaced the boots but found cars coming back so replacing shaft was better .

Cheers guys. Looks like I'll be getting a cost for those after Christmas!

No messing around doing just one side - the drivers side is definitely noisier. Get both done at the same time.

I'm assuming that driveshafts are a Renault only part? I've been reading a few comments about different specs of shaft. Can they tie-it in correctly with your reg number?

Cheers,
D.

I'm sure it's a Renault only part mate mines been knackered for ages and is a fooking annoying clicking lol.

I bought one recently from Renault exchanging my old one . I was surprised to see "made in Germany" plastered over it
